I went to dinner at the Oberon restaurant in Eureka, CA. The restaurant is very beautiful, and I loved the decoration. Both my wife and I ordered New York steaks. They were great, very juiced and flavored. We topped our steaks with melted cheese. The restaurant does not have parking, so you need to find one in the street (this was not an issue, as there was plenty of empty spaces nearby). For desert we ordered a crème brûlée; it was very good. The only reason I do not give 5 starts is due the service, our waitress was great, but there was not enough staff, so we needed to wait a little bit to be seated and to get our orders. If you love steaks I highly recommend this place.
Parking: Parking at night was OK, but you need to park on the street.
We loved everything about our experience at Oberon. We were looking for a nice dinner while we were there for the night and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was wonderful, the music selection was great and the food was delicious. My husband and I were talking about making this our go to every time we go to Eureka but the waitress informed us they are unfortunately closing their doors on the 31st of December. Such a shame to lose such a great place
Overall a pleasant meal. Food was very good. I didn't enjoy being charged for bread. I was very displeased with being charged for gravy for mashed potatoes. But, I will say that it was THE best gravy I've ever had at a restaurant, hands down! Staff was competent, but slow.
Too much butter, nice atmosphere. The waitresses are very sweet but forgetful. I went for dinner and got the salmon. I'd like to come back and try out the brunch menu.
Delicious good, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The waitress makes me feel I'm at the best place for dinner, like in a great family atmosphere. I had the super good oyster, grilled classy way, I all the way to Humboldt Bay to get this great dinner.
Fantastic staff, delicious food, reasonably priced! We had mac and cheese with shrimp and fettuccine with chicken parm. They were both delicious. We will definitely eat there again.
Delicious food, friendly staff and great atmosphere!New York Strip Steak was perfectly cooked, Shrimp Scampi was really tasty! Every sides were nice, but the brocoli was slightly salty.Love our cocktails and Crème brulé so much?We had a wonderful dinner here, definitely will come back in the future!
We are regulars of the oberon. My husband and I are busy working parents who love good food and atmosphere. Oberon staff always greet us right away, unless super booked they always find us a table and their food is good! I recomend you try the vanilla carrots. I don't know how they do it but they are delicious and unique. I love their pear and pecan salad, fettuccine, and they make a mean steak! They have a full bar and beer on tap with a decent local selection. Plus they are kid friendly! We come in, get a drink, enjoy good food and our kids color on the kids menu and it's like a mini-vacation from the world. Thanks Oberon
I love fish and chips and this might have been my favorite of all time. Cooked perfectly with panko breading. Also if you like spicy get the strawberry jalapeño cocktail. It has the prefect amount of heat and delish! Ask for the bartender/server Destiny! She is fantastic!!! ??
Really great food and a neat atmosphere! I had the steelhead and my wife had the filet mignon. Both were cooked perfectly and the side were tasty with ample portions! Great, friendly and efficient service too. Definitely recommend!

Food was amazing ?, we had a large group and our waitress was great, she didn't miss a beat. Definitely going back!!
Sarah - Helpful, fun, caring, and always prepared - Tabasco sauce in her apron pocket! Service - outstanding! Baja Snapper Sandwich - Tasty. Calamari - freshest we've had! Oysters Mignonette - best of all we've tasted the past two weeks. Tarbender makes a mean whiskey Manhattan. Nice neighborhood for a strole. Street parking nearby.
We’ve been visiting wonderful Oberon for all 14 years and are never disappointed. The drinks, the selection and the fun vibe always makes us feel that this is one of our local dining homes. Today we had brunch with *delicious* unfiltered apple cider mimosas and great food from the best brunch menu in Eureka. And really cheerful service! Enjoy!
Came here for dinner, was able to beat the rush, lots of graduation celebrations. Restaurant has old memorabilia photos from over 100 years ago. Had bowl of clam chowder, was ok, a bit runny for me, and Caesar salad with anchovies, super delish. Hubby had the steak dinner, was cooked as requested. Left totally stuffed no room for dessert. This was our second time here, would come back and hear some stories of the restaurant and old Eureka from the owner?! Love the nostalgia look off the place with some relaxing music. Restaurant is cozy enough for two yet large enough to host for a dinner party, with reservations of course. Come out here and enjoy the food and friendly staff. Unfortunately I didn’t take a pic of our food.
My daughter treated me to a special birthday dinner on April 14. The food was excellent and service was top notch. Prices were reasonable, atmosphere comfortable, tastefully hip music played as background added to ambiance and did not drown out conversation.Excellent creamy clam chowder tasted homemade, not canned. Calamari appetizer lightly breaded and fried to tender perfection. My daughter loved the shrimp scampi and I thoroughly enjoyed the red snapper, cooked to tender flaking perfection. and so fresh. Homemade mashed potatoes and buttered green beans deliciously prepared. Wait staff indulged my picky preference for a genuinely hot pot of Earl Grey tea taking my direction on how it should be prepared . (Woe to those restaurants who present a cup of tepid water with a teabag still packaged). Complimentary birthday dessert of my choice was the creme brulee served with a lit candle. What's not to love about Oberon Grill?
