Loved the extra experience. Very “mom and pop” got to see the wine barrel gallery and a full experience of the place . Regulars explain all about the wines. I felt right at home even though im from another state. I will be returning on my next visit. Side note : take your husband too even if hes not a wine guy because they serve some great local and imported beers

This winery is an absolute gem. Whether you’re a local or just travelling through to see the redwoods, a stop at OG is a must! As wine lovers from the other coast, we cannot put into words just how amazing the people at Old Growth Cellars truly are! They welcomed us as if we were old friends and quickly made us feel like family! Jim and his staff are top notch. The barrel room is gorgeous and the wine… THE WINE! It’s amazing. Sourcing their grapes from different California AVAs gives them prime selection of what the state has to offer. Checkout their schedule to find an array of food trucks (the oysters were the best I’ve ever had!) and some fantastic musicians. Oh, and if you see Ru or Amy on your visit, make sure to tell them that their Virginia besties say hello! Cheers!

This is a lively winery with some nights hosting good music. The staff was courteous. They make wines from Medicino, Humboldt and Sonoma grapes (maybe other areas too).I had the the Mendocino Sauvignon Blanc which was dry and tasty.
