I visited Ramone’s in Old Town Eureka today with my girlfriend. We had good service overall, but I wanted to share some feedback that might help improve consistency.
I ordered a large coffee with heavy cream and vanilla flavoring, along with a cortado. The barista preparing the drinks didn’t seem familiar with what a cortado was, and although the person at the register told her verbally, she was then left on her own to figure it out. The drinks came out lukewarm, my coffee was overpowering with vanilla, and the cortado was extremely watery with no real texture or balance.
I finished them and politely asked for another cortado—this time hoping someone more experienced could prepare it. The second cortado was excellent, and the barista mentioned it was her favorite drink, which showed immediately in the quality. The difference between the first and second drink really highlighted the inconsistency.
My girlfriend’s matcha latte was also subpar compared to other locations.
This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed inconsistency at the Old Town location. A couple of times I’ve ended up with actual coffee grounds in my drip coffee, especially toward the end of the cup. I’m not sure how that’s getting through, but it’s only happened at this location, not at the Harrison Ramone’s, which is much more consistent.
I want to emphasize that the staff was friendly and the service was good. My feedback is simply about quality control and training. If new employees are being trained, it would help if experienced staff stayed involved to ensure drinks come out consistently, especially when customers are ordering more specialty items like cortados or Gibraltars.
I really enjoy Ramone’s and hope this feedback helps bring the Old Town location up to the same standard as the others.

Mindful Thought
I usually dont go for coffee but i was feeling like needing a double shot expresso, he did tell me he didnt have a syrup which i didnt usually think they used so he said if i minded a different syrup or something which like i said didnt usually think ithad any syrup n when i seen yhe cost almost $6 vs $3.15 n a bigger cup i asked again its a double shot expresso n they said yes. To top it off the coffee tasted like medicine...im not even drinking it n at this point i dont plan to go back to that Ramones thats why i rather make my own! Plus there was a guy outside their business asking for money...this is not the way i wanted to start my day pretty disappointing 😕

Ramone’s Bakery & Café is the perfect spot in Eureka for a coffee break or a sweet treat. I enjoyed a golden milk with a shot that was rich, warming, and perfectly spiced—one of the best dairy-free options I’ve had. I also tried their vegetarian breakfast burrito, which was basically a brilliant omelette rolled up in a tortilla—an omelette on the go! It was satisfying, fresh, and perfect for a quick, hearty breakfast. The cornmeal scone was tasty and moist, though I did notice it’s not made in-house since I’ve seen the same one at other local cafés. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy your order. The staff are friendly, quick, and make you feel right at home. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, a mid-day pick-me-up, or something special to take home, Ramone’s delivers every time.

Cute little coffee shop with pastries. But the pastries obviously were baked elsewhere and brought in, tasted like day olds. Coffee was very good.

We love bakeries. Some days we stop at two or three as we travel through towns. The reviews said Ramone's was really good so we had to try them. As soon as we walked in and saw the cases our eyes lit up. Great selection of quality pastries and cakes. We settled on 2 orange-currant scones and a baby NY cheesecake just big enough for two. We ate one of the scones as soon as we got back in our vehicle and almost went back for more. Full of flavor and nice texture. We had the cheesecake for dinner dessert and yes, it was fantastic. One of the best cheesecakes we have had. You have to go to Ramone's if you are anywhere near Eureka. The only thing we are sorry about is we were out of town too far to go back for another cheesecake by the time we ate it. Super high marks. Thank you Ramone's.
