The food was really good, but the service was lackluster. We kept having to find our waiter.

This review is coming from a vegan who was along with a group of family. Not their target customer, I realize. This is a large space with a hunting lodge atmosphere. Lots of dead animals on the walls (think that restaurant where Gaston breaks out into song in Beauty and the Beast), which makes perfect sense for their target audience, but if you are vegan or vegetarian, you should know that in case you are invited to join a group here. We all have different comfort levels with that. They surprisingly had a Beyond Burger on the menu, but unfortunately they were out of it when we were there. I have only ever been there once, so I don't know if this is ever actually available, but if you see it on the menu, it might be worth asking if they actually have it in stock to serve you that day.I saw a marinara-based spaghetti option on the menu, which mentioned "square spaghetti" in the description. I have to assume this was an inside joke/reference, but it turns out it is spaghetti in a square bowl. With that said, if you ask for it without parmesan and verify it is made with oil, rather than any butter, it seemed vegan. In all honesty, I forgot to ask if the pasta was made with egg, but it seemed safe when I got it. Vegan friends would want to double-check. The spaghetti was quite flavorful -- it did have quite a bit of oil. I found it tasty, but some health-focused vegans/vegetarian might want to know that. I am glad that I verified no butter in advance, because the dish came with toasted bread which I am sure would normally have butter, but they had used oil instead, which was very courteous. They have numerous salad options. I got the spinach strawberry salad (without the feta). Apparently the kitchen made it the first time with feta, but our waitress noticed and brought it back to the kitchen before we saw it. This made it take longer to get the salad, but I appreciate the attentiveness of our server. I truly was not expecting that at a steak restaurant, which is a testament to at least that server's skill. I will add that the lemon vinaigrette was quite sweet -- I love sugar and am not a health-focused vegan, but it is a little more syrupy than I expected. Taste it before you pour generously. As a vegan, I can't say I would go out of my way to revisit, but I think that is to be expected. If you are with a group of family members who love this space and you can handle the Gaston-atmosphere, then you can find options to eat and adapt and will be treated kindly. Perhaps call ahead if you can and ask about the Beyond Burger -- maybe they will run out to Safeway and pick one up if they are out of stock, who knows. To be fair, I know the vegan burger patty options have irregular availability, so it may be a supply chain issue. In any case, there you go. I braved the lodge. If you do go, you might get the fun/shock of seeing their massive Tesla coil in the middle of the restaurant go off. For me it kinda freaked me out, but it was unique!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options if you ask to remove cheese/butter. Beyond Burger on the menu, but was not available when I went. Pasta and salads are a good choice for vegetarians, and good for vegans if you remove cheese/dairy. Also a veggie skewer with tzatziki sauce (dairy based, so probably a bit boring to get without the sauce as a vegan).

I went here for Valentine's Day. I spent a fortune but it was only 50/50 not like it used to be. Everything was very rare. Maybe try to go on a slow night and everything will be done for perfection.

I feel like this place has kind of an identity crisis. Is it a high-end steakhouse? Is it a barbecue place? If you're high-end steakhouse, why do you give me a plastic cup and the ranch and a plastic cup? The quality of the meat seems average. The ribs come out lukewarm, and the vegetables are soggy. If you're a barbecue place, why is your barbecue not good? Why are the prices so expensive?

Beware of this business. Was quoted a price on the Shamus website and charged a substantively higher price ($30+) when ordering. Unethical and illegal. Cancelled order and left.

Nice hunting lodge decor. The 30 min. Wait was not worth it. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food came out room temperature. It didn't taste any different from other buger joints. Clam chowder was watery and barely any clams. They also were out of clams.

One of the worst dining experiences ever! Brought out wrong salad and soup. Caesar Salad wilted/brown and crappy taste. Steak not well done/pink inside, then never returned it for 10 minutes. Burnt to a crisp when it arrived as we were leaving. Clam Chowder was horrible! No horseradish for Prime Rib. Brought out pure horse radish when I requested some, not a mixed condiment.Baked potatoes were just okay. Ate here before and nothing like this disaster. Two stars is probably generous, but cannot explain why one good visit and one horrible visit, about a year apart. Goodby Shamus!

This place is one of our favorites! Everything on the menu is amazing. Can't go wrong with any of it. Just a cool place to check out if you want the best steak and seafood.

Applebees by the bay. If you want a burnt winco steak this is the place to go.. service with a frown and a look of distaste. If your unlucky enough to meet the owner you'll gladly eat at sizzler for half the cost and similar quality

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. The staff was so amazing and we have a good size party with toddlers, the food was spectacular. Literally best mashed potatoes I have ever had, steak was good, veggies were good. Huge plates, service was great, it was cozy and very homey inside. Not too busy on a Monday night and I went in not knowing what to expect because of the reviews but was blown away. Thanks.
