My boyfriend and I visited the Eureka area for a few days to see the redwoods and we had such a positive experience here at Sushi Spot. Our food was delicious (I had the teriyaki tofu) and our server David was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Was pretty bland , $50 bucks the curry tasted like beef stew. Sushi Rolls were small with no garnishes to liven up the dish . Just a roll with unagi sauced like it sat under a heat lamp. You would hope to get full on a $50 meal.

Mixed review.

Sushi is my favorite food, and I have had the food fortune to eat at well over 100 sushi restaurants around the world. More than 50 in Japan alone, so my comments are based on broad personal experience.

Now, at this restaurant the waitperson service was excellent, as was the Agadash tofu.

Rainbow roll was so-so. The shrimp in the center was so small it was difficult to see/taste it.

Biggest disappointment was the Nigiri Sushi.

I ordered two of my favorite nigiri, Unagi and Saba.

The Saba portion was not well cut and presented, almost hacked.

However the Unagi nigiri was the major disappointment.

Unagi nigiri is always served warm from the broiler, with unagi eel sauce lightly dressing on the top of the Unagi.

What I was served was a large cold slice of Unagi, straight from the chiller, and no Unagi sauce on top. A major disappointment. I have never seen Unagi nigiri served this way, and most of the flavor of the eel was lost.

We came here based on Google reviews. In addition, there isn't a whole lot of choice in Eureka within walking distance. The food was super fresh and delicious.Personally, I would have just liked a slightly different sauce for my chicken + rice dish - but that's always a matter of taste. The waitress (young woman with short hair) was very nice. The rest of the team seemed a bit arrogant, hence a star deduction.

Amazing place, will come again! Ordered the Apple Crunch Vegetarian Roll, it was one of the best things I’ve ever had! Great vegan and vegetarian options. Lisa was a great host, thank you!

First time at the eureka location. Had a great meal on their patio. Hama Kama combo was perfectly grilled(?). A tad too salty for my taste but didn’t detract from my overall experience. I’ve been to the Arcata location for lunch a couple of times and I’d suggest that location as well!
