Nice place
Looking for an intimate, chill vibe, easy-going (yep, the name slaps) hangout on your own or with a date or a group? THIS is the place.
I was there on a Saturday night, very talented band, fabulous mixologies, ran into people I knew.
The only thing I wish they would add: packaged nuts, and maybe even some candy bars? Right now the only food option is three different varieties of the same brand of potato chips. 🤨
Give me more snacking options, and I will stay longer, and I will spend more $$. Promise!
I started going to this bar about 9 months ago, I became friends with Tim and most of the rest of the Opera Alley Cats, and I very much enjoyed going there every Tuesday night for the music and some drinks. Sadly the manager of the bar noticed that I go barefoot after all this time, and refused me service claiming health codes and liability, sadly both of these excuses get used way too often and are both incorrect. The first time she told me this while I was inside watching the band, so I decided fine I will not spend any more money but will go when the band is outside, then she told me I couldn't be there barefoot outside either! It's a shame, I made great friends, spent easily 50+ a week, and this is how they treat good customers with lies over their own fears of being barefoot. It's very sad that such a great chapter in my life has to come to an end over something so pedantic to a business.
Fun funky spot with a bit of a new Orleans vibe
A place for a drink - and a great drink you will have! Intimate with character, this is a place for drinking but no food here.

I don’t know what to say but the bar person was not welcoming as I feel my husband and I were immediately judged as we walked in. We have travelled over from Sydney Australia for a five week holiday and three weeks in of travelling from LA on our way to Portland to spend Christmas with friends we were met with hostility and judgement before we even spoke. One of the first statements to be made by the bar person when we asked about a cocktail was “As long as there’s no hate speech” Without much of a word we asked if there was bourbon and coke, the reply was yes what kind of bourbon ? in which I replied well we’ve had bulldog bourbon before in America in which he replied “ we don’t serve that bourbon it’s homophonic ! “ he then proceeded to serve four other people that came into the bar after us and ignored us. We felt pretty awful and uncomfortable so we left in which he shouted out “have a lovely evening”
having come from Australia for a holiday we are not familiar of all the types of whisky’s but also the general treatment was hostile to say the least.
We gathered there was an agenda going on and having strong ties back in Australia with the Sydney Gay Mardi grass through my husbands work in graphic design and marketing, my own trade as a Therapist working with youth LGBT in the heart of Sydney we found this quite shocking to be judged based on our appearance and ordering the wrong bourbon and as a very normal 60,and 65year olds in jeans and jumpers. The very attitude of this person behind the bar not wanting hate speech, homophobia did exactly that and ruined our time on our first night out here. Very very disappointed and hurt.
Great live music!

The bar tender tipped himself $10 on my tab. I ordered two drinks, one for $12 and one for $13 respectively but woke up to a $35 charge the next day which felt super sleezy because I tipped in cash :(
Updated review because the charge was amended and that's what the owner asked me to do once it was fixed.

We enjoyed the service and atmosphere. We are warmly welcomed. The bartender was magician. Whatever she made her drink was absolutely wonderful.

Halloween '24. I haven't had the chance to get out and don a costume in...wow. I skipped Halloween in '19. Five years! Garth was the doorman, and his demeanor was jovial and inviting. Alfie and Taylor (I sure hope I have everyone's names spelled right) were busy to the SKY and held it down. I misplaced something and it was found and returned to me...like...almost immediately. I was floored!
The staff and guests were a visual feast of the coolest costumes. The music did not disappoint. I'd be remiss not to attend next Halloween, what a cool time. Hands down, I recommend.

What a find. Can't comment on food, as we didn't eat. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere and the music by Jenny and her band. (you're new friends from Yorkshire) So sorry, can't remember the full name of the band, but you were all amazing. If you are in the area do visit this bar, it's wonderful.

Great little bar. New Orleans speakeasy vibe in Eureka. Friendly bartenders and a friendly crowd. A bit pricey but you pay for a better experience.
