I just got to eating breakfast in the Exeter. Whistle stop She stays open longer now, which is great. It is very good breakfast. I have no complaints I had. Eggs, hash Browns and bacon when you go in there, you either set it to counter or approved. I sit at the counter.
But if you're ever an Exeter, they want to have lunch or whatever stop at the whistle stop.
This was the cutest little restaurant/diner and the food was delicious. The owner even sat with us and chatted for a bit. Very kind and friendly lady and staff! Thank you! Glad we stopped by after our drive through the Sequoia National Park!
Great food and amazing service in this friendly restaurant
Teresa was an amazing waitress! She had everything down. We had a table with 8 people ( try to keep parties small, or group up as there is only one table that can accommodate a party that size) multiple tables can comfortable seat 4-6 people.
Regardless it’s worth the wait. You can taste( and smell) the quality food. Highly recommend the banana pancakes/ chicken steak/ biscuits and gravy/ country fried potatoes.
I live in Exeter and the last 3 times I've gone. We've successfully eaten once. I feel like this place is always close when I come. The food is decent and the waitress have been great. They just need to be open or at least some kind of heads up they're closed. On social media, or even a freakin note on the door.
Very attentive service and loved what we had today…a turkey sandwich with the wedding cake soup and the grilled chicken sandwich with a salad. Small and cozy place to eat…must try it! ♥️
excellent service and waitress teresa ,great food, very clean
The atmosphere is above and beyond. This is a Disneyland breakfast! You seriously can’t get more out of a beautiful business woman up and ready with a hand of talent that makes your mouth water! Sunday afternoon to an early morning Tuesday coffee with her smile and brilliant staff makes your week unforgettable.
Coming from a Chef myself, I look forward to my standards met. Never a disappointment.
My children and I have been there to grease our chins and will continue to drive the country roads to our favorite place!
P.s. I know the secret to her fluffy omelettes, I’ve never went back. (Ask her) ?

We stopped at the Exeter Whistle Stop on Sunday on our way home to Los Angeles from Sequoia National Park and really enjoyed it. We wanted to get away for the weekend, and Exeter was a perfect choice. The shop is cozy and clean with fun train décor, including a model train running on a track near the ceiling. The outside water tower adds to the small-town feel. We wanted to try the donut shop next door, but it was closed. We visited around 10-11am, and while it was almost at capacity, there was a table just for the four of us inside. The owner felt welcoming towards outsiders. The food was delicious and reasonably priced at around $15 a plate. Spent around $20-$30 for food and drink combined.
Kid-friendliness: The Exeter Whistle Shop is a great place for kids, with its fun train décor and a model train running on a track near the ceiling. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a welcoming spot for families. There are also outdoor tables, perfect for kids who like a bit of extra space.

Best Reuben sandwich I had in a while! All food was excellent, service was very friendly. It’s a small place inside but they have a few outside tables.
Kid-friendliness: Train motif, basic kid menu options, noise level that kids do well with
