The food was really good. I live right in between L&L and Big Island. I've tried both now. I like Big Island more, and their portions are huge. They were friendly too. I'll definitely be back.

I'm not a person that leaves a review but after waiting over an hour and a half for my food, I feel inclined. We kindly approached staff 3 times regarding our order, they apologized but made no effort to solve the issue or see what was taking so long. The food ranged from mediocre to unappealing. The macaroni salad was the best part of the meal, and it wasn't fantastic. The wings come out way faster than the Hawaiian food which is understandable but no food should take 1.5-2 hrs to receive, no matter how "fresh".

Apparently this place is having a soft opening, so my wife stopped by on the way home for takeout. Ugh, where to begin... 1. We ordered a three meat plate (teriyaki chicken, katsu chicken and bbq beef), and was charged for three meats, but we received only two meats (no bbq beef). 2. The chicken katsu was cold and dry. Edible, but just barely. 3. The teriyaki chicken was served with sauce in a separate cup, which is fine, but the sauce was cold and far too sweet. The chicken itself was cold and not flavorful. 4. How does an Asian cuisine restaurant screw up white rice? This place managed to - the texture was mushy and wet, and honestly Minute Rice would have been better. 5. The macaroni salad was average, but passable (I'd eat it again) but it's kind of messed up that this was the best part of our meal. Despite all of these flaws, we know that a soft opening is meant to work out quality and service problems, so we're giving a generous two stars. We will try them again in a couple of months, and hopefully by then they will have their business and food dialed in. But based on our experience today, they have a lot of work to do.
