This place has been here since the 70s or 80s, my uncle knows the owner. My family loves coming here, this is a top notch place and the flavor and ingredients used are outstanding. I feel healthier coming here and will always be a regular. Thank you Sunflower Drive-In!

It's a cute place. They had a large selection of vegan food items. I like their baked goods goods.

I think I would give 5 stars for food and 0 stars for customer service. The women that work the cash register are always so rude. I come here so often because I love the food but it's just a pain in the butt to have to deal with the workers here. Their attitude is horrible, they act very pompous and like they're better than everyone. So many positives about this place other than the customer service. The last 2 times I've been here they've been so rude and just smug. I went on 3/23 at 1:30pm and whoever was working the cash register was so rude.

Been blowing through hear for years. Some of my earliest memories, with D.O.D. (Dear Old Dad). The names change, the faces change, some famous, some just your every day people's. But one thing that has remained constant. The food. "Quality you can taste"; DOD loved the smoothies. I'm just happy the place is still here. Like one of them old worn road signs no one seems to notice. Those four simple words, a testament through all time and space. Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance ?. One more thing...although the Gumbiners and the wild, Milton Delugg accordion master have moved on (God only know where they are now) The whole damn place...is now kept up and humming....by all the girls. Kisses ? ? ladies. Yku are truly ?. JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. Black, white, red, blue, any color u see. Y'Alls beautiful. Wellll done!Kid-friendliness: A boy, a wee lad, was filling up an umbrella with grasses, leaves and what not. And my buddy noticed, he opened it up over his head, and danced in it as it ?. A truly, truly beautiful site

Best vegetarian food. The nut burger is amazing! I also love the patty melt and nutty taco. The vibe is chill picnic table healthy delicious lunch with chickens usually roaming around. It’s a great change of pace from your franchise and chain restaurants.

This gem in Fair Oaks has become my go-to spot! It's got that natural charm and an array of Vegan options that even surprise the seasoned veggie enthusiasts. Forget the stereotype of bland salads - their menu boasts hearty, flavorful choices. Personally hooked on their sandwich melt; it's a symphony of loaded cheese , a guilty pleasure that rivals biting into a messy Carl's Jr Western Cheese Burger. No kidding, it's that satisfying! For a perfect day out, bring the kids and take a leisurely stroll in old town Fair Oaks, capping it off with a pit stop here. The picnic tables are perfect for soaking up the weather while relishing your meal. Highly recommend!

I'm really disappointed in the sunflower I have an allergy to cashews and I found out the nutty taco has cashew meet in it and I asked the girl if they could just do a millet Burger chop it up and me put money on sauce on it she said they couldn't do that that's outrageous that the can't accommodate my allergy

Sunflower Drive In has THE veggie burger in California. It's called the Nut Burger or, if you prefer it to be a little larger with a flatbread instead of a bun, it's called the "Super" Nutburger. The patty is a housemade mix of nuts, veggie pulp, chickpeas, perhaps a touch of cumin in the flavor, and who cares what else all fried up into a patty shape and layered in a burger with fresh lettuce, onion, tomato and sprouts with a sauce. You can request cheese and or avocado. It's very filling with high quality ingredients. I have friends who live in the SF Bay area and Santa Cruz. We all agree Sunflower Drive In Nutburger patty is the very best veggie burger we know of. It's been around since the 1970s. They have haven't modernized much and that's just fine. Prices remain reasonable. The experience is largely the same. Walk up to the window (which may have a line during peak lunch hour and weekends), order, get your number and find a spot a share picnic table outside or climb the parking lot hill and sit on the curb. This is a time to chat, people watch, be amused by the Fair Oaks Village charm. Keep your toddler clear of any roosters because they have been observed aggressively defending the flock from clueless small people who think petting or chasing chickens is fun. This is not a time to get upset about waiting for your food in a rush. It ain't McDonald's and you'd be harshing the vibe to demand it

Stop here whenever I am in town. My favorite is the nutburger, which they can make gluten free . It has been a go to favorite for 20 years.

Actually enjoyed my smoothie quite a lot, it's a bit on the expensive side, but definitely was good to drink. I can't say how good some of the sandwiches or burgers are though, I can't imagine I'd like it over a regular burger, but smoothie wise, it's pretty solid.
