Just had brunch at Barefoot Café and wow—so good! Pancakes that actually melt in your mouth and ravioli that tastes like it came straight from an Italian grandma’s kitchen. Chill vibes, friendly staff, and everything feels fresh. Definitely my new go-to spot in Fairfax!

We have dined at the Barefoot Café many times. A couple of observations: Yes, the owner can be grouchy at times, but once he gets to know you, he can be quite friendly. He's a quirky kind of person, I wouldn't give it much attention. The other staff at the restaurant and both friendly and courteous. More important, the food here is consistently good. And I mean, consistently. The ingredients are of good quality, including fresh fish, and organic vegetables. Further, the portions are very generous. And I mean, very. I don't know how they do it. The menu is very extensive, and you would expect some dip in quality across a rather large range of dishes. I do not eat meat, and cannot speak to those dishes. As for a number of dishes including fish, chicken, pastas, and salads, I say again, the food has been consistently good - both tasty, and wholesome. Considering the size of portions and quality of ingredients, I'd say that the prices are quite reasonable. Most dishes are served with warm corn bread. I did not expect restaurant in eccentric Fairfax to be this good, but there you have it. And any evening, when cooking at home is a burden, we pick up dinners from the Café, and.....problem solved.
A nice breakfast / lunch place. A bit on the pricey side.

I had their eggless tofu scramble for lunch. It tasted delicious, and extra savory after adding cholula sauce and salsa. Service was impeccable. Our waiter got our order fast, and food came out what felt like right away.

Nestled in the quaint little town of Fairfax this eatery features an owner that takes orders and buses tables. He also does the shopping. The food is on point. It's a small space and a little loud but the staff is accommodating and the menu and plates are generous. My littles were interested in the donation box for local animal shelters. Stroll the strip and enjoy all the local flavor before or after. It's a worth while adventure.

This place was so pretty! The food was super good! I got the pesto pasta dish with added chicken. The chicken was juicy and not dry (which some places serve🙃). Our server, Tyrone, was also very nice and helpful! The food came fast and we were served cornbread to start off! The corn bread looked homemade and was amazing! 🤩 We were also informed that they serve both gluten free breads and pasta which was perfect for one in our party that don’t eat gluten.
For dessert we shared a pannacotta with strawberry sauce which was very good! It was home made and I could see it was made with real vanilla beans!
Overall food and dessert was way above our expectation and I highly recommend going here!

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and has actual plants, not fake ones! The atmosphere is very aesthetically pleasing and the food is delicious. We devoured a plate of French toast and a kids meal burger. They have a nice portion sizing and we left with full stomaches. The only downside is that it is pretty expensive ($20 for an adult burger) but I would definitely come back to eat more food. Would definitely recommend!
Delicious dinner for two.
I was excited to try this place and I tried a dinner entree. I ordered the bucatini and meatball. It was a generous portion and the sauce was delicious- but not enough, unfortunately. The meatballs stated it was a combination of beef, pork and veal. The meatballs lacked any flavor, which is a bit strange considering the effort of using three different meats.
I think I should have tried a breakfast entree because there are so many raving reviews of them.
I'll go back; for breakfast.
My wife and I came here because it was close to a tattoo parlor we had just left and one of the workers in the restaurant would cone out and greet us as we passed by. He was very welcoming and the staff was the same. My wife ordered crab cakes and I ordered a gnocchi with sausage plate. Both were delicious and came out at a timely manner.
Love the espresso
