I recently moved to San Anselmo, and am so happy I “found” The Hummingbird in nearby Fairfax. It’s in a good location at 57 Broadway Blvd. with plenty of free parking across the street. I really like the New Orleans vibe at The Hummingbird. The menu includes several creole items alongside standard breakfast and lunch choices. The servers are friendly, helpful, and efficient. The food is fresh and delicious. I love their catfish po’ boy sandwich. The fried green tomato BLT is very good too. My third visit will happen next week — I’m thinking waffle & fried chicken this time . . . or maybe the fried shrimp po’ boy sandwich.

Gotta love a place that plays bluegrass and has a disco ball! Fun, fresh, friendly and funky. The Hummingbird Cafe in Fairfax is a must try restaurant.

ok now. AND they refill your mimosas. ALRIGHT!!!

ok now. THE FOOD! Soooooo good.

We both enjoyed The Gumbo and Chicken and Waffles. Waffles have garlic butter. Excellent surprise. The spicy syrup paired so well. Ordered a side of whipped cream to add to the deliciousness. Oh my. THE BEST. BOTH.

WE ARE COMING BACK!!!

This place has slipped so dramatically. We used to LOVE it but its now egregiously overpriced, the service- nonexistent. The food is still good, but that’s just not enough. Kinda sad.

We had breakfast here. Vibe was cool, but service was super slow. I have serious food allergies and they refused to feed me. This is rare and happens. Upon leaving the server was super rude after i said it would have been noce if you could have served me, she told me not to come back. Whether I'm right or wrong. This is unacceptable behavior. We will not be back. My wife had the chicken hash and it wasn't to my liking.

Fun little joint with fun music and decor! Soft, fluffy beignets cooked to perfection! The food was very fresh! Eggs Benedict were on point and so was the lox and bagel! Worth every penny!

OMG, where do I start, amazing Welcoming or the great customer service, delicious drinks, supreme food 💜 shrimp and grits, chicken waffles, huevos con chorizo, you name it, they are to due for!!! If I could I would add more stars definitely coming back soon!!

If you love Louisiana Cooking, this is the best place to go in Marin County. I love their fried oysters. My friend ordered Gumbo, which I seldom do as I make it at home and it is hard to measure up. But based on her enjoyment and my visual inspection, it is probably at least as good as mine. It is a diner atmosphere with arty and LA touches making it fun. They prefer if you pay in cash and will give you a bonus plate of beignets for paying that way. And they are the real thing, just like the Cafe du Monde!

Famous for their bignet and gumbo. Very tasty traditional breakfast food, with a hint of New Orleans vibe.
