Man, I gotta tell you them smothered turkey wings off the hook. You gotta go get you some, done right way in this gravy sauce. Absolutely amazing.

I recently visited this restaurant based on the recommendation of five family members who went there for a birthday celebration. They raved about the food. I Ordered a pick up plate of mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and fried chicken. When I arrived, and I called immediately after putting in the order to tell them to change the mashed potatoes to mac & cheese and I arrived they said they cannot accommodate my wish because the dish had been made, but that they would do it they had me sitting there for 45 minutes. I received the plate. Nothing had been changed and literally they just put a scoop of mashed potatoes. I asked them to remove it and put the mac & cheese. The food was OK so I won’t be attending the restaurant again the atmosphere and just the accommodations were not nice not serving not somewhere. I would like to be. The desserts were outstanding however. I would not recommend you attend this restaurant. The food is OK. The service is deplorable. You decide.

Had the fried fish with garlic mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese.

The fried fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned well.

The potatoes were flavorful without being overpowered by garlic, also firm without being dry.

The Mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy and perfectly seasoned.

The service was good, a little slow, but the server was pleasant, and attentive.
The vibe was warm and inviting. Everything was, wonderful.
My wife and I will be going back.

I have not been back someone brought their dog in the restaurant...The food is delicious ..but I can not eat where dogs are allowed in the restaurant

On Sunday 3/1/26 I placed a to go order via the Toast app. I love the pork chop dinner however they were sold out. I chose the turkey wing dinner with rice and gravy, greens/cabbage and yams. The wings were so tuff I had to cut it off. The wings were cut in small pieces opposed to a whole wing. The rice and gravy had no taste at all. I have been going to Aunt Bill's for the last few years and this was the worst 30.00 spent with them. I am not sure if I will return. In the beginning they were so good but they have falling way off. The time before was not that great either. I ordered oxtail and they were so tuff I ending up throwing them away. Food is way to expensive to deal with this kind of service.

So my family and I do not live in Fairfield and were visiting friends…. When I tell you THIS IS the BEST SOUL FOOD !!!!! I felt like I was eating the food from my childhood…. It was simply amazing!!!! We will DEFINITELY be making the1.5 hr drive back to this restaurant. The waitress was really nice and very helpful! We felt so comfortable.

I loved the black owned establishment, the only reason I’m posting this is because my husband and I traveled over 50 miles to eat here. He ordered the fried fish, greens, and yams and it was delicious, the yams had the flavor but some of the potatoes were under cooked. I on the other hand ordered the chicken and waffles, the waffle was flimsy and cold, they gave me two syrups but they did not even equal one plastic small to go container. They were actually stuck together, when I pulled them apart, they was stuck and when they unstuck, there was a piece of hair between them. The waitress was awesome, I couldn’t bring myself to complain, I kept it short when she asked me how was everything, I just said the waffle was cold. It was not room temperature, it was actually cold. I only posted this like I said to better the company, step it up, and if your traveling, check the reviews because my lips was ready to get down, I was let down. My blessing people.

It would of been some good food if the oxtails weren’t under cooked, and the seasoning was off, no gravy, I was very disappointed 😔 and surprised 😳 it wasn’t better then what it was 🥺. I cook for my family and I don’t know how to Measure seasonings, I just do it the old-fashioned way from sight. I am truly sorry 😞 for the bad review, but if you know, you can rectify it. Happy a wonderful rest of your day.

Great customer service good portions but the food isn’t that great the greens got stems in them and I don’t like steaks in my green macoroni and cheese was ok nothing to right home about the ox tails they give you a lot but they taste old and salty not fresh the cornbread definitely not fresh taste like jiffy that was frozen yesterday it’s in a cool area a little dated it’s edible but not something I would run back to

I don’t believe anything is perfect but this is as close as you’ll get to authentic southern soul food on the west coast. had the red beans and fish beans were perfect the fish was good just wish it was a thicker fish . Also had the kool aid I didn’t like it for the sake of me being use to the soul food places having super sweet koolaid so we can disregard that the hush puppies were crispy and perfect I also tasted the wings the hot honey and bbq and I wish I ordered them also. Lastly I had the side of yams that was the perfect balance of firm and soft and sweet , the cornbread stuffing was amazing and the Mac and cheese which was my least favorite but wasn’t nasty just not my preferred mac and cheese. Minus my slight critiques I would still consider this place worth every penny and the beat soul food I had my 4 years in California . Thank you to the staff who worked yesterday at 12 who helped our 10 plus part have a great expertise definitely will be seeing me again
