Unfortunately, the food at El Pitayo does not match the amazing customer service that I received at the restaurant. The three individuals working in the restaurant, two servers and the cook, were all extremely attentive and friendly. My group came to this restaurant because of the homemade tortillas advertised. A few of us got flour tortillas on burritos and each one was burnt. Corn tortillas on the other hand, were not burnt, but a little thick and that caused them to be kind of raw. It took away from the taco. The carne asada that came on the carne asada plate was very good, but we all agreed that the rice and beans were a little tasteless. The rice seemed to be just colored, not flavored. I’m sorry for writing a negative review, I really see that the restaurant was working really hard to create an authentic experience with homemade dishes. I agree with others in the review section here that we all needed more salsa to add flavor to our dishes. I also agree that the amount of salsa received with chips is wayy too little. They always gave us more though.

The waitress was very slow..she didn't check on us. Our table was dirty. We waited forever to be acknowledged, for our order to be taken, for our food to arrive. When she brought our dip she brought it without chips and we had to wait even longer for her to get them. Then when the chips came, there were barely any in the there! Thank goodness the food was good.

Great food! Their service was a bit slow, however it's a family business and they don't have a lot of staff which I appreciate. My burrito was great. I had a carne asada super burrito with refried beans and no rice. The ambiance was okay, great place to go for a lunch 🙂
I come here very often. The owner Eddie and his employees which are most family as well are great people. The food is just like at home with their tortillas hechas a mano! I couldn’t ask for anything better from a Mexican restaurant. I recommend this place if you’re in Fairfield and want try a mexican restaurant this is the place to go!

The food is INCREDIBLE!!! Homemade tortillas are the best I’ve ever had. Authentic Mexican food and the employees are wonderful. My only suggestion would be to get 1 more server. Your food is so great it gets packed. New customer for life ♥️
We were part of a party of 40 people, 10 of which were young children and babies. The 3 waitresses handled it so efficiently and did a great job. Thank you! The homemade tortillas were incredible, we will be back.

We have been here to their new location a few times now and it has been delicious everytime. The waitress recommended the trio plate and it was amazing. Loaded with flavorful meat and yummy corn tortillas. The chicken tostada was light and not greasy. We will definitely be back.
