Evil twin beer was quite delicious. Pepperoni pizza was great. Watch out for the mustard if you’re ordering the pretzels, it’s tasty but horseradish based and quite spicy but I loved it.
What JZ built you have ruined. As a military member that would encourage members to visit in large groups. I do not anymore. Food in the past was amazing. New food service quality is low. I had the fish and chips on Friday and it was terrible. Thin French fries and an unidentifiable nugget thing mixed in with the small fish pieces wasn’t good. The area needs a place with really good brewery style food. You’re the only place around. Bring back the quality the customers will follow. Maybe call Jon Taffer.
I’d like to bring attention to a concerning experience we had with the manager, Courtney (blonde hair with green tips). As active-duty military members along with several fellow service members present, we felt disrespected by her behavior in front of both customers and employees.
It’s especially disappointing to see this happen at an establishment that proudly promotes the 60th Military Maintenance patch. Using military symbols for financial gain while simultaneously showing disrespect to the very people those symbols represent sends a conflicting and disheartening message.
I believe it’s important to address this situation to maintain the respect and integrity associated with supporting military personnel.
I and four friends came to Heritic Brewery for lunch. We used to come here for lunch often when the business was locally owned. This was our first visit since it was sold to Calicraft. I ordered a Shallow Grave and BLT. The Shallow grave was as good as I remembered, and everyone enjoyed their sandwiches. Service was good.
Very disappointing dinner. My pizza was burned and uneatable. When I spoke to the manager she came over with an attitude and tried to justify the burnt pizza. She kept asking what I wanted as if I were trying to get something for free. Being a business owner you never ask someone what they want, you tell them what you are going to do for them to make it right. I didn’t want to pay for the pizza nothing else. When I took a picture of the pizza is when her attitude changed. I will never go back. We used to frequent this place often. I had heard it was under new ownership. Not a good way to start. I would recommend going to Rustwater downtown. Very friendly and have great food and beer.
Here is a follow up:
This will tell you how much they value there customers. No response as of 2-7-25. In would recommend staying away from this place. Vibe has definitely changed.
The grilled chicken salad, a pretty simple food item, made me sick. I have been eating limited foods, so I can tell exactly what it was. Ate it about 7 hours ago with just water to drink. It's painfully shooting right through my body and keeping me from sleeping. Pretty icky but true. .Environment was nice. Parking was limited. Service was good. Silverware looked brand new, super shiny and really clean. I like to leave great reviews but the salad made me ill.
New ownership they changed the food from Great food & options to small menu and overpriced. Heretic use to allow you to play music from an application if you paid from their song options; however, no longer an option. The staff have to deal with customers who are upset over the significant changes. Staff & customers are Unhappy. Please bring Heretic back to what it was Great place previously.
Beers and alcohol are always good but burgers are 15$ and come with really small patties
Personally I didn't like it. We won't be back. It wasn't what I was expecting. The food wasn't to my liking either.
The food used to be AMAZING.
Now it's very mediocre after new management took over.
As far as the pizza and burgers are concerned, I'd rather go to Dominos or Habit Burger.
I'm assuming the beer is still great but I haven't had an opportunity to have any beer there since June.

Anytime i can support a local business its good. Heritic Brewing is a great place and they serve up some really unique and delicious beers. One of my favorites is the Chocolate Hazelnut Porter, aka CHP. The IPA is also great. They fill growlers and have a decent selection of swag too. Check them out, you will be glad you did.
Update 11/2024
Heritic was sold to Calicraft. Calicraft is a brewery company out of Walnut Creek CA.
I went in on a sunday as I usually do.
My initial observations were as follows...
1. Sundays are generally packed 30 min after opening...when I left 45 min after opening, there were zero people in line at the ordering counter, and exactly 17 people at the tables. People are not coming in.
2. When the tasting room opens on Sundays, there are several people working at the counter and at least 2 people running food from the kitchen... Today there was one girl setting up tables, taking orders, pulling taps and running the register. She was the only person I recognized from the old crew. That is indictive of the 60 plus percent drop in people coming in. Why?
3. Uh oh, the menu changed. (Sighhh)
Gone are the amazing shrimp tacos and so many other items. No more Siracha sauce for the tables either. Added is Pizza...but it dont sound good and I didnt see anyone else eating it. Still there are burgers and chicken samdwich...which I ordered with Tots.
The tots are not the same. The tots were a must have for any visit I made, these were different...not in a good way. The burger was also a thinner patty, no flavor to it and the overall impression for the California Burger was that it is not great.
The vibe is gone. Now its just like all the other breweries that were bought out, changed and then left to dwindle.
At least Slanted Tree is still holding out so we have a good place to have a brew and some great food.
I should have known something was up when I drove up and there were only 2 cars in the parking lot. Too bad man, because this was a treasure in Fairfield.
I am now wondering if the beer quality will change? Lagunitas used to be my absolute favorite place to go and their beer was in my top 3...but they got swallowed up by Heiniekins and things just were not the same. Celebrate and cherish the small kraft breweries...they are special and they deserve our support. I dont drink Bud or Coors or especially Heinikins...I appreciate small batch craft beers and I support eatablishments that provide a quality beer and appreciate the people that keep that going. Today, I lost Heritic or should I say, they lost me. Thats ok because there are sooo many great beers out there and I love discovering them.
Cheers!!
**GOT FOOD POISONED, ordered the chopped salad on 10/26/24….got home and had all terrible symptoms. Their voice mail is full so you’re seeing it here! Perhaps old expired food and they don’t check!!! Beware!
Great place to eat and have beer. Open seating and you order everything at the bar. Staff is great and food came out in a timely manner. I’m a stout/porter person so my go to is the Chocolate Hazelnut Porter. For food, we had the Lonnie Cheeseburger with fries and Buffalo Wings. Food was good. They have pizzas which we plan to try next time.
Been meaning to stop here for a while, pleasant surprise. On the food side, that may have been the best roasted brussel sprouts ever, I'll be working way through the menu next time I'm passing by on 80. On the distillery side, I'm not much for the wide assortment of flavored gins vodkas whiskeys and rum, and it's usually a bad sign when a distillery leans heavily into flavors. So I didn't taste those and can't speak for them, although they seem popular. We'll surprise, their classic whiskeys and gins are very nice indeed! I'm taking home a 4 year malt rye, and samplers of a gin and a bourbon, affordable and good. Highly recommend for a lunch or dinner stop when whisking down the 80.
Great beer. Great food. Awesome.
