This place had CLOSED DOWN for some time now. I don’t know why Google Maps is STILL showing active hours! I drove an hour+ from SF just to get disappointed…

Hot Dog on a Stick has been a staple in the world of fast food for as long as I can remember, and my recent visit reminded me why it has stood the test of time. Nestled in a bustling shopping mall, this bright and cheerful kiosk beckoned me with its mouthwatering promise of hot dogs and fresh-squeezed lemonade. Here's my take on the Hot Dog on a Stick experience.Food (★★★★☆):The star of the show is, of course, their namesake hot dog on a stick. Whether you opt for the classic turkey or veggie dog or venture into the realm of cheese on a stick, the combination of savory, slightly salty, and slightly sweet flavors will hit the spot. The cornmeal breading is crisp and golden, adding a satisfying crunch that complements the juicy hot dog inside. It's simple, but it works. The portion size is generous, making it a satisfying snack or a quick meal option.Lemonade (★★★★☆):Hot Dog on a Stick is also renowned for its fresh-squeezed lemonade, and rightfully so. The lemonade is tart, sweet, and refreshingly cold, making it a perfect companion to the hot dog. It's a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but it's easily customizable with extra lemon or water upon request.Service (★★★☆☆):The service at Hot Dog on a Stick is efficient but not particularly memorable. The staff is friendly and gets the orders out quickly, which is great for a fast-food joint. However, it's the kind of place where you order at the counter and take your food to go, so don't expect a fine-dining experience.Atmosphere (★★★☆☆):As it's often located in malls, the atmosphere is casual and bustling. Seating areas are typically minimal, so it's not the ideal place for a leisurely meal. Nevertheless, the vibrant color scheme and the iconic Hot Dog on a Stick uniforms add a fun touch to the dining experience.Value for Money (★★★★☆):Hot Dog on a Stick offers good value for the quality and quantity of food you receive. While it may not be the healthiest option out there, it's a tasty and satisfying indulgence that won't break the bank.Final Thoughts:Hot Dog on a Stick is a reliable choice for a quick and delicious bite, especially if you're in the mood for a classic hot dog with a twist. While it may not offer gourmet dining or a unique culinary experience, it excels in delivering what it promises: a tasty, affordable, and nostalgic treat. Whether you're shopping at the mall or simply craving a guilty pleasure, Hot Dog on a Stick is sure to hit the spot.

I came to order and was about to pay with card and was told cash only and had a $100 and then was told couldn't take it so I said to cancel order. Don't know what's up with them today. Hope they fix that soon.

hi

Thought I would run in get me 1 of the best corn dogs & lemonade to be told they are closed @6:11 pm when web Google maps states 8pm is closing. Only reason for the 1 star

"only lemonade (no food) and only credit card payments"Would have been nice to know that before waiting in line for 10 minutes. Half an hour before closing, best practice is to turn away sales. Lost $15 from me.

I had a Veggie Hot Dog. The tall white male worker wasn't that friendly. More mechanical than anything else. For $3.89 plus tax I won't be going back.

Love the corndogs & cheese sticks. Only downside is this location is under staffed & prioritize doordash & delivery orders over customers at the store.

Showed up 10 minutes before they closed and they said too late they closed early

Today when I had went they were out of sides:( the associate who was working replaced my sides with extra corn dogs . The employee didn’t seem happy to be there maybe he had a long day or something when I grab my items there was no thank you come by again, just not so much of a friendly person. Once I open d my order he forgot my ketchup and fries ??? my food was made pretty fast how ever.

Friendly staff. One of the last HDOAS in the area. Dogs and lemonade were a treat. It does take a bit to get the food but small price to pay for FRESH corn dogs.

Hot dog on a stick is a place to grab a quick treat. Today it wasn't as fast as I liked. They were a little confused in getting the orders correct. The lady before me had her order made twice and the order after me got my fries. We ended up getting our order with a bit of a wait. Their work station also was messy behind the counter. You definitely notice this, since they prepare your food out in the open.To be honest, our order still came out hot and delicious. Hopefully next time I can give them five stars.
