The Original Mels Diner

I've been a big fan of mels in the past, but the experience my family and I had was pretty poor from our server last Sunday. I ordered the fish and chips for lunch and was told five minutes later that they didn't have it. Total wait time to recieve food was close to thirty minutes and our server never once came to check on us. We actually had to flag down another server to get the bill and he didn't waive the original fish and chips that I had ordered. Needless to say, the female server was very nice and apologetic.

The bacon burger my wife ordered was awful. The bacon tasted bad and she removed it from the burger. The atmosphere and service was good, the food was terrible.

I’ve eaten here several times and I’ve enjoyed it. However we arrived around 8pm. It seemed very quiet. But as we were still eating they started cleaning, I guess because they thought they could finish up earlier, but the cleaning smell of chemicals overpowered the part of the restaurant we were eating at. Couldn’t finish the meal!!!! So disappointed with Mel’s!

Always good food and reasonable prices. Today they had a robot to move the plates for the wait staff.

Our server did a great job and was very kind.

We always stop through when we visit Fairfield for the waffles and pancakes! Their strawberries are always fresh and tasty!

The music is good, classic music for the era it represents. The food is pretty good whether it be breakfast or lunch, burgers, turkey burgers. The service is usually really good friendly staff.
