Nestled in the rustic agricultural landscape of Suisun Valley AVA, this winery proved to be a delightful surprise on what started as a scorching summer day. Despite the intense heat that typically challenges wine production in this region between Napa and Sacramento, the winemakers here have masterfully crafted wines that showcase remarkable freshness and vibrant acidity. The charming backyard setting transformed our hot afternoon into a refreshing and memorable wine experience under the open sky.

The tasting flight revealed impressive complexity and terroir expression. I was particularly struck by the layered aromatics and flavor profile, detecting intriguing notes of fresh yeast, dark licorice, and bright cherry fruit, with an unexpected earthiness reminiscent of forest floor mycelium that added compelling depth. Their Riesling was absolutely stellar—crisp, balanced, and perfectly suited to the warm weather. The highlight was an enlightening side-by-side comparison of their Chardonnay vinified in two distinct styles: the French oak treatment delivered rich, creamy butter notes with beautiful integration, while the stainless steel version showcased bright citrus and subtle lemongrass aromatics with pristine fruit expression. Both expressions were exceptional, demonstrating the winemaker's skillful approach to showcasing varietal character through different techniques. This Suisun Valley gem proves that world-class wines can flourish in unexpected places.

Our group of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It’s such a beautiful place. Special mention to Rob who made our afternoon here even more enjoyable.

I’ve lived in Fairfield for over 30 years. With a slight break…
someplace else.
This has got to be some of the worst wine I’ve ever tasted. And other wineries in the area are not that great… Why is it that wineries in this area can’t produce good wine? Caymus is the best! Their wine is unbelievably hands-down the best wine in this area ever.

Amazing experience!!! They have the best wines hand down. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful and they catered to our particular tastes. Ask for Rob. He was super!

It was particularly special for me because my family lived here in the early 70s and my mom and dad used to visit the Wooden Valley Winery regularly.

I will absolutely return if we are back this way in the near future.

Great looking winery. Friendly staff, packaged charcuterie, good wines, and a beautiful estate with tree shades for visiting guests to picnic at their reserved tables and non reserved tables.

If you're looking for a winery that doesn't feel commercial, this is the place to go. It felt like home with amazing service. Our server, Holly, was so sweet and walked us through every single wine. We did both tastings and genuinely enjoyed every wine. (We didn't dislike a single one) I would absolutely go back and buy more wine. In addition, the views were great with nice indoor and outdoor seating area.

A very well known, well regarded winery in Suisun Valley AVA. The cabernets are fantastic but what stands out more is their Rosè. It’s off dry that tastes like a Jolly Rancher. Gorgeous tasting room and a great outdoor tasting area. Enjoy a flight, by the glass or by the bottle. Parking is limited with overflow across the road. Great folks so kudos to Mr. Lanza for the great wine.

This is a prime spot for great wines, atmosphere, & customer service! There's something for everyone & pricing is very reasonable. The outdoor space is beautiful with a nice view, & the staff is very kind & attentive. Already looking forward to going back. Thank you!

This was our first wine tasting experience, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing one. We checked in and were told to have a seat. An older woman briefly acknowledged us, saying she’d be right with us—but instead, she focused on putting away wine glasses underneath the register. That seemed to take priority over helping us or any other guests.

We waited patiently for over 30 minutes with no follow-up, and no service whatsoever. It became pretty clear that our presence wasn’t valued, and honestly, it felt like they just didn’t want us there. From the way things were handled, we got the message.

So, we walked out.
Sadly, it seems this kind of treatment is not uncommon here—others have experienced being ignored too. Definitely not the warm, welcoming introduction to wine tasting we were hoping for.

Amazing visit!! Recommend coming during the week to get the full experience which they recommend 90 minutes!!
Maria was phenomenal!!! All the dry reds were delicious, bought so many had to ship back. $25 is well worth it! Cheaper than bag fees
Plenty of seating available inside & out!!
