The VI Restaurant at the Victorian Inn in Ferndale,CA never disappoints. The authentic antique ambience is lovely with antique wooden furnishings, parchment etched wallpaper, elegant carpeting, and romantic lighting. The building itself is amazing and so nicely maintained.
The food we had was excellent. I had grilled salmon with capers, and my husband enjoyed homemade clam chowder and chicken pot pie. The cocktail menu is extensive and cocktails were expertly made. Nice wine selection to pair with different dishes. Service was excellent with attentive and friendly servers.

Beautiful building and restaurant. Our host/waitress was beyond Amazing!! Honestly probably the best service and waitress I've ever had. Food was flavorful and delicious. Our only complaint was smaller portion sizes so we did leave still wanting more but perfect for smaller appetites. We loved it though an will definitely be back.

If you can get in, then go. It's an amazing foodie experience. The way they put the meal together is unique and very tasty! My gluten free wife found some great options.

I got the vi burger, I thought it was going to be good but wants i tried it, it tasted bad it was cold and was really pink so that wasn't good. My dad got the fish and chips it looked really good but there not much fish and mostly all breading and it didn't taste good either. Also we got onion soup and clam chowder they both weren't very good. But the service was really good.

Ugh ...I want to like it as I live here. But this is my 2nd Christmas eve dinner and for me just terrible. I guess I don't know what paella is supposed to taste like but this stuff was like some old leftovers with 3 rubber shrimp. Pasty rice with what ? I'm not sure. My husband seemed to like his salmon. Little disappointed that the waiter didn't offer a kids menu to our 2 year old granddaughter. I thought they just didn't have one. We had to order extra because the first dish was all just hard potatoes with red peppers and a bunch of onions. No Christmas music just noise from other tables and they didn't bother to light the candles at the tables. Not the most "special " of evenings...

Extremely disappointed and overprice drinks. Service was lacking.I visited this place with friends during the Christmas parade for first time. Given the history of this place, I was expecting good cocktails. Host was not very welcoming, told us to wait at the bar for bartenders. After 15 minutes some random person show up who clearly has zero knowledge of making cocktail toon our order. We asked for old fashion and whiskey sours. Came out terrible . The guy didn't even use a shaker just pour stuff in glasses like a Cheap college night club . I hope VI get some trained bartenders or better yet mixologist.
