I had an unpleasant experience tonight with one of your drivers, and honestly, it’s left a bad impression of Bento Box as a whole.

While I was parked and getting my toddler situated in his car seat, one of your drivers pulled up right next to me. I was already in that stressful, juggling-everything mode parents know well — trying to buckle in a little one while keeping everything and everyone safe. When I turned around, I was startled to see the driver just standing there, scowling at me.

I immediately apologized, assuming maybe he was waiting for me to move so he could get into his vehicle. But he didn’t respond — not a word, not even a nod. Instead, he continued to glare at me with an expression that honestly felt aggressive and intimidating.

As I got into my car to leave, I saw him watching me the entire time. Then, to make it worse, he walked over to his truck and ran his hand along the side of it like he thought I’d hit it — which I absolutely didn’t. If anything, it was my body that may have brushed against it while I was trying to maneuver around with my toddler.

He continued to stare at me as I drove away, and the whole interaction just felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. It’s one thing to check your vehicle — it’s another to make someone feel watched and accused for no reason.

Considering this was my first interaction with Bento Box, I’m really disappointed. No one should be made to feel like that, especially when doing something as simple as getting their child into the car.

Ate here with my wife last night. Service was excellent. Water refilled multiple times and staff was attentive. Somebody broke a glass at the table next to us and staff cleaned it up like professionals while making sure customer did not feel embarrassed.
Food was delicious. Wife got tofu bento and said tofu was crispy and fluffy. I got the mey mey spicy roll. It was presented beautifully. I wish I had taken a picture. Tasted fresh. Not overly sauced and just the right amount of jalapeno to give it spice.

Restaurant is clean and had a great vibe. I usually go to mikunis for my sushi but bento box is my new favorite. Also lots of seating and tables spread out. They sat us at a 6 person table for the two of us. Tvs on every wall. Great AC. Nice looking bar. Great overall experience.

Also our appetizer, starters, and tip came to less than 50 bucks. Not bad for sushi

I recently visited Bento Box for a quick lunch with a friend, my second time at the restaurant. Initially, I wasn't overly impressed during my first visit, but I thought the bento boxes offered a decent, quick, and somewhat healthy option. This time, we decided to try the sushi, opting for the sashimi plate and extra sushi rolls with our bento boxes.

Upon receiving our sushi, we immediately noticed the color looked a bit off, which raised some red flags. Despite this, we decided to give it a try. I started with the salmon, which tasted okay but definitely hinted at being old. The next piece, however, was a different story. It was overwhelmingly fishy, discolored, and downright inedible. I returned it, and the staff was polite and removed it from our bill. I paid $75 for a meal that I absolutely regret ever eating.

Unfortunately, shortly after our meal, both my friend and I began to feel unwell. It was the only thing we had eaten that day, and by the evening, we were both experiencing severe stomach issues. For the past 15 hours, I've dealt with extreme nausea and diarrhea, making for a very uncomfortable experience.

The quality of fish at Bento Box is questionable, and I was informed that they had just received a fish order that day. Given this experience, I wouldn't recommend their sushi—I'm too worried about the risk of getting sick again.

I got a to-go order that I placed in the restaurant and waited for. The staff was really nice and professional. The restaurant looked nice and clean. Unfortunately the food was just okay. I ordered a 2 item bento box with short ribs and beef teriyaki. The short ribs were okay. The beef teriyaki was way too salty! We also ordered sushi and poke. The fish was fresh but the poke was a bit gristly. We ordered egg rolls which didn't make it into the bag. They couldn't give a refund and instead will home us a free order the next time. One odd thing is the menu has really overpriced sushi but says everything is 50% off which makes them more typically priced. Why have a really high price if they are always discounted? I doubt we will be back since there are better places in Folsom for this type of food. Guess I'll never get my egg rolls.

I wasn't impressed with the food, to be honest. Just didn't taste high quality. It is unlikely I would go again.

I’ve enjoyed dining at Bento Box with my family, but our recent visit left us extremely disappointed.

We ordered a bento box that included beef, chicken teriyaki, as well as honey chicken. When I took my first bite of the honey chicken, I was immediately overwhelmed by a foul taste that made me gag. It was so bad that I had to spit it out, wishing I could erase the taste from my mouth.

I informed the waiter about the issue and requested a new order with a different protein. While we were waiting, the manager approached our table, don’t have her name, Instead of expressing concern, she kept rolled her head and seemed dismissive as I explained our situation.
Not once did she or anyone apologize for the experience we had just gone through, which added to our frustration.

We eventually received a new plate, but unfortunately, I left the restaurant with an upset stomach. This experience was not what we expected from a place we’ve frequented before.

I hope the manager and team take customer feedback seriously and improves both the quality of their food and their approach to handling complaints

I went into Bento Box hoping for a decent meal but was extremely disappointed—and disgusted—by what happened. I was served edamame that had a live worm crawling out of it.

When I brought it to their attention, the staff showed zero real concern. There was no apology, no offer to make things right—just a dismissive comment blaming their distributor. Regardless of where the produce came from, basic food safety and quality control is the restaurant’s responsibility.

This was not only unacceptable but also handled very poorly. I won’t be returning, and I hope they take a serious look at their food prep standards.

This is one of my top places to go to when visiting Folsom. I came here a few times for dinner dates and it was perfect every time. The price is fair for the portions and always done right. Customer service is kind and always there to assist. :). Definitely a must for family and friends.

I ordered vegetables tempura, it was massy and squishy and very less quantity

Rather pricey, but I'm ok with that once in awhile. I wouldn't plan on making it a regular place to eat because of the cost. Only special occasions or sporadic self indulging visits.

Food is good and good amount but the their teriyaki sauce and tempura sauce are very sweet. For a slow night, service was bad.

Second time I came here. Korean beef and salad good on a bento order. Something is not right on this bento box. Most of the time on a bento box on most Japanese restaurants there is always fruit and a miso soup. This place doesn’t include them. Instead, they put a fortune cookie🙀. That’s out of place for a place you called a Japanese restaurant. Staffs are nice but lady manager seems like a snob, doesn’t smile at all. Order takes a while for a slow hour around 5pm on a Sunday. Paid $29.xx total.
