I didn't get pictures of the actual meal, but their chicken katsu was delicious. Some of the best Mac salad ive ever had too, and id highly recommend the dole whip. The staff were friendly and very personable
I LOVE the food here! I am addicted to their Loco Moco! Best in town, and I have tried other Hawaiian bbq places. Big Island is hands down better. The gravy on the loco Moco is amazing. I wish they sold it as an extra because I would buy it! Their meat is perfectly seasoned and the prices in this economy are awesome! BEST PLACE TO EAT IN FOLSOM!

I had a very disappointing experience at Big Island BBQ in Gilbert. I placed an online order scheduled for pickup at 5:15 PM. I arrived on time, checked in, and sat down to wait. As I waited, I noticed several other orders being called—at least six or more—including numbers higher than mine.
After a while, I approached the cashier to check on my order. That’s when they realized my order had been completely overlooked and forgotten. No one had started preparing it, and there was no communication or update given to me until I spoke up. Even after this mistake was acknowledged, no one apologized. The cashier was unprofessional and made no effort to take responsibility or offer any kind of compensation for the delay and inconvenience.
Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and basic customer service made the situation worse. I won’t be returning, and I hope they improve their process and staff training.

Beware: They Don’t Accept Their Own Gift Cards!**
I recently visited this Hawaiian BBQ restaurant with a gift card I had received, only to be told that they don't accept their own gift cards due to new ownership. This is completely unacceptable and feels like theft. If you take customers' money in exchange for a gift card, that card should be honored, regardless of who owns the business now.
As someone who is a mentally disabled ex EMS personnel, this situation was incredibly frustrating and felt discriminatory. It's hard enough to navigate daily life without being taken advantage of by a business that should know better. This kind of treatment is unfair and unethical. I strongly urge everyone to reconsider supporting this restaurant until they rectify their policies
