I just came here to have a lunch with my husband and with a very poor experience. The food we got was cold. The fries were cold, the onion rings were cold the soda pop machine wasn't working. All around with this was not a very good experience would we be back I don't think so. Not at the price they charge for cold food and we even tipped. I just talked to a girl in charge and she said she would get us a free meal card so I appreciate that I think we will try coming back again.

This place never disappoints! Sandwhiches are incredible, with prices being very reasonable.

The tri-tip has always been excellent. The price used to be better but that's just the way of things now. The last I had was medium rare thin sliced and it was perfectly cooked and was served with drippings/au jus.
The other food such as the pulled pork and sausage is only good, not amazing.

Solid food but the worst ordering process imaginable. It takes so long standing in line that it just ruins dinner. What is this fast food? This place needs to figure out what it wants to be because what it is now is a mixed bag.

Tri tip was amazing! I'm from the east coast and was in town for work. I wanted tri tip so my coworkers took me here, and I'm so glad they did! I even went back the next day for more!

This location was a disappointment in comparison to the Rocklin location. The pulled pork wasn't that good and was more chopped than pulled. The salmon was also very dry and tasted like it was in the freezer. We placed our order 45m in advance and had to wait another 15m past the expected time, while other walk-in customers got their food before us. Not planning to come back
Buckhorn is a place I like to visit a lot, I’ve been to multiple of them from Sacramento to Roseville to Vacaville, today was by far the worse experience I have had. I take my guys out for lunch during our lunch break which starts at 11am telling them how good this place is, figured the Folsom location would be the same. Both my guys tri tip was over cooked, one of them it was flat burned to a crisp.
I let the waitress know who was very nice, then the manager John came over and was extremely rude while trying to argue with us about it. It’s unbelievable that this is how a manager decided to treat us, he talked to us like we were stupid when it was very obviously burnt. Not sure if it was because we’re construction workers or what but we will never return to this location which is sad cause buckhorn was one of my favorite places to eat out at.

The tri tip is delicious as well as pork ribs, onion rings and mac and cheese. Will definitely be eating there again. Staff are very friendly.

The meat is the star here.
Brisket and chicken is juicy and flavorful. I wish there was a better variety of sides.
Service is slow when its busy and food arrives when it is ready vs serving the entire table.

I have eaten at probably 200 different bbq restaurants across the country in my life and this is far and away the worst tasting you can find in America. The chicken was overcooked and flavorless despite being caked with baked-on ketchup-flavored sauce. The pulled pork was indescribable- it tasted as if it had been poached in chicken stock seasoned with old bay to resurrect the flavor and moisture that was lost in the oven. Add to that the raisin-laden coleslaw and Chef Boyardee flavored beans and this meal drove me to do my first google review in 13 years.
