The service is semi self service. They brought our food to the table in brown to-go boxes. However, the portion was generous for the price.
- Hainan chicken rice: the chicken pieces were perfectly cooked and juicy (but a little bit bland for my taste). The rice was fluffy. The soup broth was good and very hearty. - Crispy chicken with rice: it’s my favorite between the two. The coating was crispy and flavorful while the chicken meat was still juicy. My favorite part was the spicy sauce! It was delicious!!!
I will definitely come back for more and try different menu.

Hurray! Folsom's food scene is getting more diverse. Cluckin' Good Chicken opened up recently and specializes in South East Asian food. Their signature dish is Thai Hainanese Chicken aka Khao Mun Gai.
The chicken is brined and poached to a perfect tenderness. It's served skinless and sliced over garlic rice. The chicken was beautiful and delicious. The dipping sauce has a spicy kick in your pants punch. Great flavors. The dish was served with a chicken consommé. I was told that the rice was meant to be dipped and eaten with the consommé. The consommé had a crystal clear appearance and wonderful subtle flavors.
The menu also includes appetizers, crispy chicken, and grilled pork and steak plates. The menu is compact and succinct. Ordering is done at a self ordering monitors. The interior dining area is comfortable. Luv the fun, brightly floral murals. The staff that I interacted with were awesome even when I asked the dopey questions about the consommé ( what is that? what's in it? is it a soup or for dipping... blah blah).

This was a little hard to find as there are no signs that say Cluckin Good. After checking Google street view, I realized that Cluckin Good is actually the Thai food place.
Ordering is easy. You can do so at the counter or via a tablet. The tablet has nice, pretty photos so you see what you’re getting.
We ordered the hainan chicken and the crispy chicken to try a little bit of each. The hainan chicken was so dang tender and flavorful. I ended up stealing most of my partner’s. That’s not to say that the crispy chicken wasn’t delicious as well! I just liked the other more. The crispy chicken was delightfully crispy. So much so that it was a little hard to get the plastic fork through the skin. Fear not, the chicken inside was also still tender.
I am annoyed that it’s a little far from Sac, but on the bright side, it’s very easy to bike here from Sac! Will definitely be stopping here on the way home from a long ride in the future.

I’ve been to Thailand, and I fell in love with Hainan chicken. I found this place and gave it a try, and it was AMAZING. The Hainan chicken was so flavorful and tender. The Hainan sauce is sooooo good. We also had the crying tiger and crispy chicken, and my husband LOVED IT! The Thai tea is one of my favorites, and it just hit the spot for me. I’m so glad I found this place and will be for sure returning!
