A month or two ago I noticed the Mexican restaurant on Natoma St across from City Hall had become Halal Grill Express. So I thought I’d give it a try.
WOW ?… what a find! I’ve been back every week since! The decor is very simple and casual and spotlessly clean. Not the place to take your date if you’re looking for a romantic atmosphere … but their food is soooo fresh, and tasty, and delicious. The owner is very friendly and upbeat and always smiling.
What it lacks in ambiance it more than makes up for in excellent fresh and tasty Middle Eastern food. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous…unless I’m really hungry… I almost always take a little home for a snack or even another meal. My new GoTo for a quick healthy meal in Folsom!

Remember the FOOD TRUCK at the outlets… this is their RESTAURANT!
The food has the original middle eastern flavor; combinations of spicy, smoky, sweet, salty enough and tangy! All the sauces are very creamy and not acid but balanced on flavor.
The service is excellent, super friendly and very patience, answering all your questions with kindness.

They have several options, vegan, vegetarian, meat lovers, etc. every time we come it takes delicious.
Options regarding plates, kabobs, etc.
The veggies are fresh.

Any of the plantes taste strong in one way or the other, very very balanced while eating it.

The Dessert selection is good, they have 2 types of baklava and Turkish delights!
Great for kids, big groups, couples or solo.

Had the wrap and it was so good that I could go for another

First time I had my dinner here, it was more delicious then ever I thought specially the Afghan wrap and combo kabab, and I will come back soon to try the the rest on the menu, I love this place and the cool environment with their awesome and friendly service.
I recommend it to everyone should try the food here and will not regret what you pay for.

Looks and feels dead ... No body here on a Sunday lunch rush hour. 2 wraps too 30nmins wait to get it here, the other guy ordered and food was on his table 15 mins before mine. Not sure why, just an honest review.

I had an amazing experience at Grill Express! The food was fresh and delicious, and the portions were generous. The staff was super friendly and provided excellent service. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Definitely coming back again!
