Ate here a couple weeks ago. Got one app and two entrees. Took about 40 minutes to get entrees. Wouldn't be a big deal if it was busy, but it was dead. Even that wouldn't really give me a reason to write a review but here's the great part: 10 mins after we sat down, the owner's friend comes in and they sit down to chat. The friend gets his food before we even get our app. That means the owner ordered it on the fly thru the kitchen and it got priority. Also the salmon was severely overcooked, the raw tuna for the app was somehow warm, and it's just overall another one of those Americana bistro middle of the road places.

This is such a hidden gem in old folsom. Everything we ordered was delicious. From the jalapeno Mac n cheese, buffalo fries, calamari, burrata, the steak salad. Everything was seasoned well and so tasty. The manhattan was nicely crafted and good. My friend love the seasonal honey comb drink. Definitely a return to tried other dishes. Make reservations as it’s a small restaurant but they have both in and outdoor seating.

Sometimes the best memories are the unplanned ones. What started as a spontaneous date day adventure led us to the charming streets of Historic Folsom, where we stumbled upon Plank’s Craft Kitchen & Bar — a rustic gem with just the right mix of cozy and cool.
From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was impeccable. The service? Flawless. Our server was on point from start to finish — warm welcome, perfectly timed courses, and not once did our glasses go dry. Everything flowed with such ease, it felt like we were regulars.
Drinks first, because priorities:
• The Lake Lennon was a total hit — crisp, refreshing, and that subtle hint of cucumber was chef’s kiss.
• The Strawberry Gimlet was almost too easy to drink. Sweet, smooth, and gone in the blink of an eye.
• The Bees Knees packed the strongest punch of the three, but when I asked for a splash of lemonade to mellow it out, they happily brought it over — instantly elevated the whole experience.
Appetizer:
We went with the cheese curds, and let me tell you, these weren’t your average bar snack. Lightly crisped on the outside, gooey on the inside, and paired with a homemade marinara that deserves its own spotlight. I genuinely contemplated licking the bowl. No shame.
Main Course:
We split the Cali Club — and it was everything. Super fresh, balanced flavors, and not a trace of that questionable chicken you sometimes get in sandwiches (IYKYK). The tater tots were golden and perfectly crunchy, and the trio of dipping sauces (chipotle, ranch, and ketchup) were clearly house-made and next-level tasty.
In short, Plank’s delivered big time. Whether you’re planning a night out or just happen to wander in like we did, this place hits all the right notes — delicious food, creative drinks, and stellar service. We left full, happy, and already plotting our return.

We all have hard days. So we were in Folsom for the Holiday art and craft fair today and saw Plank so we decided to go in. We were seated quickly and our water and drinks were ordered. Luke was on it and attentive to all of our needs, started the heater for us. It was a little chilly. Brought out our drinks and took our order! Sadly, after our appetizer came and we were finishing it, we were informed by the manager that there had been a mistake and our order had been lost. So she took our order and was very apologetic. Not two minutes later, our salads were served. 3-4 min after that our entrees . All perfect order and in service. When Luke served us, he was very apologetic and shared his mistake with us. The service here was impeccable and they made everything right! They made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and served in a timely order despite the hiccup. The food was amazing. We had the Caprese sandwich, fresh and delicious. We had the grilled artichoke, which was amazing with great sauces. And we had the steak chimichurri sandwich. I would highly recommend going and checking these guys out!!! The drinks were epic too !!! And thanks again, Luke and the lovely manager lady !!!!
As we were winding down our dinner, food was in box. Just finishing my last cocktail when a server came to our table to tell us that this table had a reservation, and we basically were being asked to leave. Never in all of my life has this happen at a restaurant before! Our bill for a party of 4 was about $275 and we were all totally appalled by this behavior and will NEVER go back to Plank because of it.
Also the reason our dinner was taking longer than expected was due to their having us wait for entrees which all came out at different times. Then having to wait 15 minutes for a 2nd cocktail.
Not very aware of their own service issues, or having awareness of why our dinning experience was taking longer than usual.
The other couple we were with own 2 restraints in the area.

Everything on the menu was fantastic. I had their pork belly Mac and cheese; it was an appetizer on their menu but the portion is massive. It was delicious and savory.
Great food, service and atmosphere! The chicken sandwich had amazing flavor, buffalo chicken wings & tater tots appetizers made the perfect meal. The staff were also very friendly. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Beautiful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating - including fire place tables. Excellent food - so good! The chicken Marsala, sea scallops and wings were amazing. Service was fantastic- friendly and fun. The cocktails were yummy too. Will be back for sure! Great find!
