Best pizza I first went to the Tony's in San Francisco a decade back and when I heard it was coming to Folsom I was so excited. The pizza is amazing here. Closest pizza place to New York since I moved out here.

The pizza and all the options are amazing. The salads are on a whole other level. We even order it to go and it travels well. But I would say eating in is preferred. There is not a lot of sitting space in side, but when the weather is nicer there is plenty of outdoor seating.

I'm a God-fearing man. And the last thing I'd want to do is write a bad review that get's somebody's Mom and Pop out of business. But Tony Gemignani isn't a mom-and-pop restauranteur. The pizza in SF holds a staid reputation.
I'm giving 3 stars. Because I don't have the heart to give less.
A cheese slice is 6.50. I've eaten pizza in New York and New Haven. A slice at Joe's in NYC is 4 bucks. Last time I checked, real estate and labor prices in Folsom are not as high as they are in Manhattan.
For 6.50 I'm expecting good things. The Grandma pizza I had had a cracker-crisp crust that made the pizza unenjoyable. I enjoy a Grandma pie with a crispy bottom but a tender interior. This contrast is what makes the pie special. But the piece I had at Slice House was hard and unpleasant. Pizza is a food of few ingredients and few flavors. Texture matters. This slice did not meet the mark.
The cheese slice was OK. I would not order it again because of the price. The cheese was not pleasantly melty, instead it had a solid texture and chew. The crust had no remarkable flavor. It had a fine texture; it was hard at parts, and soft at others, but it was plain. It was a large slice.
If you have money to spend and want a taste of an effectively low-medium tier NYC pizza, come here. Otherwise, I'll grab the NY style crust from Domino's which is within this pizza's margin of error.
Again, it hurts me to write a negative review. I've never done it before.

As a former NY resident who frequently ate at Joe's, I was excited to try out Slice House after reading a NYT article talking up their New York-style pizza. Unfortunately, the crust was too thick and hard to chew, and the pizza didn't seem particularly tasty otherwise. Admittedly, my slices were from pies that looked like they'd been sitting out for a while, and they had to put up with a 15 minute ride home. Maybe they'd be a little softer fresh out of the oven. Still, I'd argue Nugget's slices are a better representation of classic New York-style pizza. They're not particularly tasty, either, but the crust and proportions are much closer.
The service was excellent, however, and the place is clean and pleasant enough for a quick, casual meal. I haven't tried their other styles of pizza, like Detroit. I'd be willing to try them out on a future visit.

We came to eat for the first and last time. The girl at the front desk was very rude and has no customer service skills. The pizza I tried was okay, but my kids had the pepperoni and honestly, for the price, it’s not worth it.

I’m very upset at the fact that my mother and father are both in a wheel chair however they love this pizza & they order it almost every week to the lower part of Rancho Cordova !
I’m very upset that now , seemingly it looks like the owner or managers had set a new radius for how far the pizza can be delivered (It’s a 10 minute drive !?) I live in the Bay Area , and that spot reminded my parents of back home …
Thanks Slice House , for limiting your delivery options on door dash and all other major food delivery platforms . Thanks a lot .
Ordering ahead for pickup is your best bet. The pizza and salads, meatballs, everything is fresher this way. I tried walking up and ordering from the counter to dine in recently but the pizzas pre-made were overly crispy, hard to eat, more like crackers. I'm used to ordering for pickup and enjoying super fresh crusts.
