I came here 2 weeks ago. The staff were very rude. Whoever was working there 2 weeks ago was just rude. I ordered 4 food items and was waiting for it to be done. I also had Starbucks with me coz I already ordered coffee prior to going there. As I was waiting for my food to be ready, they told me you can't stay inside if you had different brand of coffee with you. I said I'm just waiting for my food that I ordered to be done. I also spent almost $30 for the food . Then, She said "you have to wait outside,!!!!! Coz I can't be inside. She was very rude. I didn't want to argue so I just went outside and didn't say anything since I paid for my food already and I didn't want them to do anything bad to my food. So I just waited for my food which took about 20 mins then just left. Will not coming back ever again. Sociology coffee staff are very rude. Why would they call them self Sociology Coffee Bar??? They don't know how to socialize at all ..

I went here last Saturday 7/5 to get coffee. As I was going inside, I held the door open for somebody to come out. Then the barista girl yelled at me and said "close the door" !!!!! And I was shocked because I was being nice trying open the door for some old lady who's was walking really slow because she had a cane to come out. I mean the old lady had a cane!!!!! And the barista just insisted and yelled to close the door.
This barista or whoever was working in the front yelled at us to close the door.. I can't even figure out why she was rude AF. I was flabbergasted! And then when I try to order the Matcha coffee, she looked at me like what do you want to order.... I got the Matcha coffee and it was watery!! It tasted like tap water was used on that Matcha coffee.. I didn't even bother to change the Matcha coffee order coz she looked like she was going to spit on my coffee. She was rude AF, she was rude to disable old lady who's had a cane coming out the door... How is this place still open???

I totally understand cute coffee spots that are cute, fun, and (slightly) expensive, but this is too much!!! Ordered the coconut drink with Thai (a speciality) and it was $12!!!!! It was 95% ice, the drink was not good (my bf tried and also agreed) and the matcha we got was super watery. The vibes are great, but stay away from the expensive specialty drinks…..they will unfortunately disappoint.

I don't recommend the specials. This was $12.50 😬 Don't get me wrong, it was good, but when every sip is $2.50 I can't ever recommend that.

I haven’t been to this one yet, but the one in Placerville is the one I’ve been going to every weekend. I like my bourbon vanilla latte. It’s awesome and Travis or Tyler. I think it is cleared up my order for me. I accidentally ordered it from Folsom and he got me my refund. I was in the Plasterville location. I give it 10 stars out of five.

Today, on a whim, I decided I wanted to go to a coffee shop to read, instead of just sitting at home. Sociology was the perfect choice. Good atmosphere, great coffee, and excellent customer service.
Every time I've come to Sociology, they've had great music that set the tone well. (And my favorite part- they have a fun little sign that tells you what song is playing!)
Their coffee is delicious! The pricing is pretty standard, and they have a variety of fun flavors available.
And, most importantly, their baristas are always kind, conversational, and happy to help you find what you need.
All in all, I can't recommend them enough! I myself will certainly be visiting more often.
my adult son and I just walked in, sat down and we were going to order food for both of us and my son had a tea in hand and I had a coffee, we planned on being there for a while and poetically would have gotten drinks at some point. A tall skinny guy says to us across the room, you can't bring drinks in your have to leave. I said we were going to buy two meals, he says "doesn't change the rules!" in a snarky tone! Customer service is everything, does it really hurt anyone that we had a coffee and tea in hand? They just lost 2 meal purchases and now we will never come back here and when one person has a bad experience generally they tell about 24 people in general conversation. Anyone looking for a great coffee shop where they are welcoming to everyone no matter what go to Coffee Republic!!!

I’ve had coffee here several times. I particularly enjoy the matcha. Recently I ordered a breakfast toast and it took about 15 min to come out. I was done drinking my matcha by the time it came out only to find a long red hair come out of the avocado. I wanted to call to let them know, but when I went online to find the phone number, none was provided. I proceeded to go into their website thinking that it will be there, but alas no luck. I dont recommend the food items at all. I’m thoroughly grossed out and further irritated that I couldn’t call and tell them about my experience.
