This place has been opening locations everywhere, so I was curious about their food. The reviews were all over the place, but my husband and I still wanted to give it a try. We played it safe with our order 😎 I got a breakfast burrito (steak, potato, cheese, and eggs) and a hot dog with bacon. The burrito was good, but it was kinda skinny compared to other places. And I was expecting the sausage to be wrapped in bacon. Instead, chopped bacon and veggies were served on top and the side. And it was pretty small also, for almost $6, I didn’t think the hot dog was worth it. My husband got two al pastor street tacos and a chorizo burrito. The al pastor was on the sour side, not because it was bad, but likely due to too much pineapple, lime, or another acidic ingredient in the marinade. The burrito, however, was also good. They offer two red salsas, both of which were tasty. I wish they were spicier but had a nice kick. Yum! The service was friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. For dessert, I got churros, and they were delicious! Overall, I think this place is decent, but I can’t judge it fully since I haven’t tried more of the menu. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu.

I ordered the same burrito menu using a coupon at Taco Express #9, just like I did here. At Taco Express #9, the portion was generous even with the coupon, but here, it felt a bit lacking. I'm not sure if this was because I used a coupon or if the standard portion size is supposed to be bigger or smaller. The burrito in the photo was something new I tried, and it was delicious.
The Google Business listing says they close at 10 PM, but they actually close at 9 PM.
Still good with free chip and sauces

I mean. It's in an old taco bell. So atmosphere could be better. But don't let that discourage you. It is a no frills taco joint. Gets straight to business. The value of tasty Mexican food here to the dollar is amazing. I had a breakfast burrito that I really should have gotten to go, because I could easily have gotten 2 meals out of it. And the quality doesn't suffer in my opinion. At least for the stuff I got (breakfast burrito, carne asada fries).
Service is good. It's quick. They brought it out to me. Can't complain.

I was so pleased with this opening. I love their shredded beef crunchy tacos for sure. Today I decided to try the chicken crunchy tacos, they were not good. Different tortilla, chicken tasted like out of a box, much like the former Mexican restraunt that was there. Wasn't the same reaction to this new promising change. Couldn't eat them. Got half way through the first, and threw the remaining half and 2nd full taco away. Will be a bit before I go back.

I really like these new Taco Exxpress places. I've been to two of them in Folsom, and the food is always great. Their hot salsa (at the salsa bar) is especially good.
