Bazaar Sonoma (BaSo) is a unique and authentic Chinese restaurant in Sonoma, offering a departure from the standard American Chinese fare. The menu features traditional regional dishes, including sizzling black cod, smashed cucumbers, silken egg custard, and bok choy, all prepared to perfection. The restaurant's dim sum offerings are also highly praised. The staff is friendly, energetic, and attentive, making it a welcoming "third place" gathering spot. Dishes seemed familiar but were done with such grace, perfect spice profile and a full spectrum of textures. They are so sweet! Thank you for bringing much needed flavor and culture to Sonoma County. Also super thoughtful and detail oriented on the dinnerware. Unique elements throughout the experience that makes me excited to support. The flavor, the unique menu, the whole experience, is worth the spurge. They have several tables outside, two indoor counters as well as a few tables in the back. Their shumai were already sold out. They decided on: Hot & Sour Potato Stir Fry - savory and the flavors work very well together! The potato is julienned and flavored with a little zing. Bang Bang Chicken Salad - Flavored with sesame, peanuts and chili. Shredded flavored chicken with sauce at the bottom that has quite a bang. Toothpick Beef Dumplings - These were hearty and had a rich taste. Old Beijing Noodles - Reminded of bibimbap with noodles. Tiny pieces of pork mixture atop a bed of medium-wide noodles with julienned cucumber and shredded carrot. Noodles were cooked perfectly. The majority of their dishes are petite but packed with flavor. Atmosphere is relaxing and employees are very cordial, polite and helpful. A lovely addition to the town. Located right on the main street. Look for the colorful wall.
