I recently dined at double D's in fortuna and my experience was anything but pleasant I ordered the egg salad sandwich which I expected to be fresh but it was anything but I ended up feeling unwell shortly after my meal while others who ordered steak seem to enjoy theirs with no issue although my boyfriend did have a disappointing experience with his meal he had a t-bone steak which is overly fatty and left him unsatisfied he ended up finishing his mother's filet mignon which was overcooked The service added to our frustration The waitress took in a reasonably long time to bring me my drink which was a shot of Gray goose and Shirley Temple she brought their soups before I received my drink which left me with the feeling of an organized. Given the quality of food and the In the slow service we will not be returning to double deeds anytime soon when I got home later that evening I was very sick to my stomach when we left the restaurant my boyfriend told the waitress about his steak being overly fatty she said oh sorry this bill cost over $120 just for his and I meal alone. I thought that was overly priced with the amount of people that were there you would have thought that the mail would have been better.

I was served moldy bread for the antipasto plate. Gross! I pointed this out to the server who did bring out a fresh batch of bread later on. Question remains, why would one bring out a hard moldy brick of bread to their paying guest? A dear friend of mine highly recommended this place to me. The server also got my friend’s main dish wrong. Not sure what was going on with our server/establishment. I still tipped well. Disappointing experience though. Check your bread for mold!!

I stopped here about once or twice a year. I went there the other day as a treat. I was very disappointed mostly with the cleanliness and quality of the food. I ordered a coffee which came in a mug and as I got to the bottom of the mug I found some baked on remnants of something which definitely did not come from my coffee but did come off when I rubbed it hard with my finger. The lettuce for my burger was dead wilting and not good on the edges. I ordered a salad and it was obvious that the lettuce had not been washed there was dirt on the lettuce. I upgraded my side for the burger to onion rings for $3 and I only got four onion rings. These onion rings were the worst I've ever had. The onion inside was extremely thin and burnt but the dough on the outside of the onion ring was not burnt but extremely crispy hard and crispy. It was not good. I overheard the kitchen staff making fun of my order for the oyster shooters with tequila. They said ew that's gross. The atmosphere is a very nice restaurant but the service was not that great. I ordered two oyster shooters one with tequila but they brought me three oyster shooters no tequila. When I gently pointed out the mistake they took the three back and brought me the correct order. I think they should have just brought a shot of tequila and poured it into one of the three as a thank you/sorry.
It's too bad to see the quality of the food and service come down so far. I remember when going to this place was a satisfying experience. It's an upscale restaurant but either the people don't care or the money is not there anymore or something but I am not going back there.
They have Calamari Strips for an appetizer! They compare to the best I've ever had and I'm very picky about Calamari Strips! ? I had their Clam Chowder. It was a little less creamy than some, but very nice tasting none-the-less! We shared the Surf N Turf. It was very good! Especially the Lobster! Then we got the Vanilla Crème brûlée. I wasn't too excited about it, but was presently surprised at just how good it was! Note that it was our anniversary so we had high expectations! Taylor was our waiter. She was great! ?
