La Costa Mexican Restaurant

First time there on New Year's Eve. Great service and large portions! Very reasonably priced . It is on the loud side so if you want something quieter and intimate this might not be the place but we enjoyed the energy.

La Fortuna's lunch special of $19.99 is a good deal. There is a good selection of the 2 courses. The meal I had, chicken francese was good, but barely luke warm. The butternut squash soup, which was an appetizer special, was also barely warm and much too thick. My friend got the eggplant rollatini and lemon chicken which she enjoyed.

Perfect setting for a Saturday lunch with friends. Service was wonderful. Our server was engaging but not intrusive. Brought us up to date on one of Stratford's treasured restaurants. The food was delicious: gnocchi with pesto - who would have thought? Eggplant, the best. The salads were fresh and dressed appropriately. lol. The mushroom risotto - enough to take home for a meal or two - or three. Value per portion ratio was spot on. We'll be back !

Made reservations for 7 people. Arrived 8 minutes early and asked if they can add one seat for a child. The host sighed and was extremely rude. They started to set up a table next to the front door while there were many tables unoccupied when we asked if they just started setting up our table when I made the reservation early the host ignored me. They ruined my sisters birthday dinner. We got up to leave and went down the street to Casa Nova where we were treated like family. Will never go back to La Fortuna.

We arrived early, and I saw that they were having some issues with setting up tables for everybody which means in some ways that they were very busy and they needed to find more room. What I can say is is that once they seated us on our agreed to time that they were nothing but fabulous. The service was outstanding. I did not feel in the short time I've been here in Connecticut, which is four months and testing out many restaurants that the food was on the high level that I have seen from other places do not get me wrong. It might be the items that we requested so please do not use that as a negative to this place. I just said the employees there want to ensure a fantastic experience and it will not stop me from going back there again.

La Fortuna is one of our favorite restaurants. Food is delicious, portions are HUGE and we like the ambiance in both the main part of restaurant and the room to the right. Our waitress last night, Linda was great and the talk young man who brings out the food is always so nice. Another great night at La Fortuna!

Sat at a table in the bar area so it was louder than sitting in the private dining room. Food is fantastic and the portions are 2x. Plenty of food to bring home. Value is great as prices are normal if not a little cheaper.

Portions are always great. Food was delicious. Please change up the veggies brought out with the bread.

Had a great lunch with friends dining with you for the first time and they loved the food quality, service, everything. I am a longtime customer. Highly recommended.

We were not greeted as 3 different waitresses walked by us. Finally sat down and waited about 10 minutes for menus and when the waitress brought the chips, there were about 10 chips in the basket. The food took about 30 minutes to come out and we waited about 20 minutes to get our check after asking for it. The food was not good.

I was very disappointed. I have been a few times and this time the food was not very good, and the service was awful. We never received one of our appetizers and three tables who had the same waiter were seated after us and they all received their meal before us.

The atmosphere and food presentation was great. The only negative thing I would say is that I ordered the Salmon and it looked amazing but was a little over cooked, but delicious nonetheless. My family and I really enjoyed the night.

It was gross!
