tl;dr: I will not be returning to this establishment.
My party of 10 was easily seated in the largely empty restaurant. We were excited for a night of good drinks and good food, this would not be the case. Instead, we were met with mediocrity at almost every turn.
Appetizer: The chips came in small batches with only an ounce or two of salsa, and each additional serving was 3.50.
Drinks: The water was hydrating, and sodas were of no note. On the other hand, the margaritas were abysmal at best. We ordered three pitchers for the table, which came to a total of around $135. One pitcher was $45. When I sipped mine I was astonished at the sweetness, and amazed that there seemed to be no flavour of tequila whatsoever. When I confirmed with my fellow diners I decided to ask the server what kind of tequila was inside. The answer? SOBE brand saké, with blanco tequila for flavour. This particular brand, if you're curious, has a market price of $24.99, and an ABV of 24%. Far below expectations, and indeed makes for a dreadful excuse of a margarita. It certainly did not meet the price of $45 per pitcher.
Main Course: I ordered the Molé Pollo, with corn tortillas, for ~$15. It arrived in a timely manner. The chicken was served bone-in, which was surprising, but not entirely unwelcome. Served with rice and refried beans, the meal was fine. It was hot, not entirely up to flavour expectation, but filling. My fellow diners seemed to feel a similar way about their dishes: hot, filling, but very mediocre, and certainly not worth the price.
Conclusion: Locha's Mexican Restaurant was just like the building it resides in, very average. There was nothing that made it stand out, aside from the drinks. If anything, the only lasting impact this meal had on me was the insanity that was the margaritas.

Everything was amazing. Food was great. Had the California burrito had french fries and other stuff in it. It was really good. I normally have the chimichanga which is just fried deliciousness. Service was excellent they were all smiles and we were a big party so they use multiple servers which was really nice.they were all smiles and we were a big party so they use multiple servers which was really nice. It would have been nice if they had told me that there margaritas aren't made with liquor. It's a small point, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. They do have alcohol in them but I think they make it with wine or something. Everything else was really good though. Even the drinks weren't bad. They were very colorful and tasted good. Lots of pizzazz!

This restaurant is pretty big so no waiting to be seated. They bring chips and salsa, their salsa is thin but flavorful. I like their quesabirria tacos. Street tacos are good, meat is seasoned well and comes with a lot of onion and cilantro. I didn't like the lengua taco as much but that's just me, seemed to lack in flavor.

Wild ride, but great food. Used to be a chinese/japanese buffet, and still has the sushi boats in the buffet stand. They make their own tortillas, their own chips, and their own margaritas. Get the Mango with the chamoy on the rim.

Food is fresh, service is friendly, the kitchen is fast, seating is abundant. Almost every time I've eaten here. There's a big group having a birthday party and our food still comes out quickly! Also a separate room if you want to have a private party for 30 or so of your closest friends... This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Fortuna.

This place is great! The food and staff is the best in Fortuna. I love going here.
Only feedback I would like to provide is that I wish the owner would move away from using styrofoam to go containers.

Nice friendly waitstaff. Ordered a carne asada burrito. The meat was nice and tender, but they went a little overboard on the salt. It was 2 of us, and we both ordered different burritos and a drink, and the bill was over $50.

i’m giving a two star because the drinks were good but the food was bad. the michelada was too overpriced, they charged us $16 for one. the beans were way too plain and rice tasted a little dry. i got the 3 combination of shrimp, diabla garlic and bacon. it was very bad compared to other restaurants i’ve been to in humboldt. the shrimp were very over cooked and the diabla one was actually undercooked.. slimy and raw. that plate was nearly $30. i probably won’t go again.
I got delivery through door dash and had some of the house nachos with al pastor and shrimp burrito. It was delicious and
