I ordered a half-and-half pizza for lunch over the phone and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I arrived on time, spent a few minutes paying at the machine, and then got in line. The staff told me the pizza was not ready and asked me to wait for another 10 minutes. I mentioned that I had ordered by phone and expected my pizza to be ready. Instead of addressing my concerns, she ignored me and asked me to wait.
The situation worsened when she gave my pizza to two other customers who were behind me in line. I asked her again, and she continued to tell me to wait. Despite asking her a third time, she still told me to wait for another 10 minutes, totaling over 30 minutes past my original pickup time. I finally told her that if she didn't want to provide my pizza, I would prefer a refund. Only then did she quickly give me the half-and-half pizza that was right next to her.
She ignored me and even claimed not to know my name after several requests for my pizza. What does it mean to order by phone in this situation? Do you have a system for customers to pick up their pizza? Is this how you approach customer service?
Once, another staff member at this same location in Fountain Valley looked me straight in the face and told me I needed to flip the barcodes so they could be scanned. He repeated this twice, looking very serious. This had never happened to me at other grocery stores, where I simply place my items on the counter and wait for the cashier to scan them. He was not the cashier but a helper, and the cashiers there are generally nice. I don't understand why Costco hires extra helpers if they expect customers to do their job. This is my first year as a member of Costco, and I am concerned about renewing my membership for a second year. I love Costco products, but I am definitely not satisfied with the customer service.

I love Costco and the food court however wait times have increased a lot and this location often doesn’t answer for pizza orders throughout the day.
I’m not sure what’s going on with the super long lines very few workers at the windows and not picking up for pizza orders multiple times during the day. ??♀️
It’s a business and I’m sure they put a lot of thought and research into this, however it is making it very difficult for us to eat at the food court like we used to especially if we don’t have much time.

They have self checkout kiosks!! Can’t complain about the food. Yes, sometimes the chicken bake might be burnt a little but just tell them and they give you a brand new one. It’s Costco!!

Rarely get orders right, asked for a chicken bake got a hotdog. When returned cashier was rude as if it was my mistake. Ordered 3 pizzas in advance and they made them the moment I got there waited over 45 mins.

I called ahead to place an order for a whole pizza while I was shopping and they said the wait time would be 30 minutes, which would be perfect. I would be done by then. When I went to pay for my order and pick it up. They told me I would need to get in line with the walk-up orders, which would be another 20-30 min wait. They said because there is one line for pick ups! So what's the point of taking phone orders? If you're still having to wait longer? Also why not have two lines one for phone orders and another for walk-up orders. This isn't the first time this has happened either, please be more up front, if it's going to be an hour say an hour and not 30 minutes!!
