Excellent food. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Must visit if you like Vietnamese food!

The food was kind of rich and too creamy for our taste. But overall it was a good place to eat and hang out.

Daniel super friendly and kind server! We really appreciated the kindness and alert to attend to my friends that we invited to Nep Cafe for the first time. They all love the food, ambiance, and the server. We will all come back soon ^^ Thank you for the best food and Daniel!

Despite the multiple updates to the reservation, they were very flexible and patient with us. Every dish and drink tasted great and service was excellent as well. Everyone was impressed with the restaurant and said that they'll be back soon. Thank you so much!

As a repeat customer, I was disappointed by my recent visit. The noise level inside the restaurant was oppressive. The high volume of the music made it difficult to hear my table partners. Couple this with every other table just trying to have a normal conversation, and the result is a dining experience in which my auditory strain completely overshadowed the food. I was disappointed that the food was not as flavorful as I remembered from previous visits to Nep. In particular, I felt that the spicy dumplings lacked any hint of tingly spice, a disappointing fact when that was the reason I ordered them. The staff were polite and attentive, but the ambience overall detracted from my ability to actually enjoy my food or connect with friends over a good meal.

We ordered the Banh mi chao, crispy pork belly wraps, and Bun Bo Hue dry noodles. All the dishes were beyond expectations. Blanaced flavor, savory, sweet, herbal and acidic just how Vietnamese flavors should be.

The food here during the Happy Hour was way better than I expected! Gourmet quality ...It's the best Vietnamese food I ever had! Service was good and pretty quick. Reasonable too. A bit noisy with lots of people but the exceptional delicious food outweighs the noise.
Restroom could be improved with real flooring instead of drab concrete that has rust colored areas in the high traffic zone .

Great food with a nice vibe and concept. Loved the chicken wings and fillet mignon banh mi chao. The banh mi was really fresh and soft inside. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size and the staff were accommodating to my friend’s food allergies to shrimp.

Delicious and beautiful dishes! They take Vietnamese food to the next level. We ordered the crispy pork belly rice bowl, crab omelette, Vietnamese milk coffee, and sugarcane kumquat. The pork rice bowl was a nice balance of greens, meat, and carb. The skin was crispy, easy to bite, and the meat was tender. The greens and pickles were so fresh. The crab omelette came sizzling hot and spicier than expected, but delicious. The Vietnamese coffee was so good and the sugarcane kumquat was super refreshing. We made a reservation (recommended!!) and sat outside on the patio with our dog. They brought out a doggy water bowl. Vibe was good overall, however, the music might have been a little too loud but we might be sitting under the speaker.

I definitely would come back to try their other dishes!

NEP Café in Fountain Valley is the kind of place that turns brunch or coffee into an experience worth planning around. From the moment you walk in, the design stands out — clean lines, modern touches, and a bright, welcoming energy that makes the space feel both stylish and relaxed. It’s the kind of atmosphere that works equally well for catching up with friends, a casual date, or just treating yourself to a slow morning.

The menu brings Vietnamese flavors into a modern, creative light. Coffee is a true highlight here, with everything from silky egg coffee to refreshing coconut and ube blends. Each drink feels balanced and thoughtful — rich where it should be, playful where you want it to be. Food follows that same spirit, taking comfort classics and presenting them with care and flair.

Service adds to the charm. Even when the café is at its busiest, staff stay attentive and upbeat, creating an environment where you feel cared for rather than rushed.

Overall, NEP Café is a gem: memorable drinks, inviting food, and an atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. Five stars, without hesitation.

I stopped by here to grab quick small bites before attending an event. WOW, everything was so good, I'll be sure to return with my full appetite. I ordered 2 things - Squid & Mango Salad and Crispy Calamari. I am a huge fan of Asian food, as well as Asian fusion. This place, as well as all Kei Concept restaurants, embodies what Asian fusion should be. The Squid & Mango Salad was sooo yummy and fresh. It had a lot of flavors happening at the same time - sweet, savory, and spicy (but not too spicy)! Though the calamari was yummy on its own, the SAUCE that it came with was out of this world. It had a hint of lemongrass in it; I've never had anything like it before. The sauce alone is just the perfect example of what Asian fusion food should be. I'll be sure to return and order much more of their food. I have no doubt everything else is just as tasty as the two dishes I ordered. The service was fine. The setting itself is very modern and hip, yet still classy and open.

Arrived just before 5:00PM and was given the choice to select from the brunch menu, happy hour, or dinner menu. Sweet! Service was top notch. Alsp plenty of easy/safe parking as the restaurant is located amongst offices/businesses vs. crazy shopping/food plaza. If you are a looking for a clean and modern Vietnamese restaurant this is the place.

I found the food average however. Tried 3 dishes and 1 drink: Crispy pork belly wrap (yum!); 5 spice roasted chicken (no flavor/totally regretted); Bún Bò Huế dry noodles (meh/a pass). The matcha cloud latte was soo good! Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes? I might give this place another try.
