The food was....decent. The margaritas were poured into a glass from a bottled margarita drink. The hostess/waitress was very sweet but took our order, then came back and asked us if she had taken our order and then took it again, and once it was done promptly brought it to another table with two people who had been waiting over a half hour for their order, and then decided to leave. We also heard her explain to a customer who was picking up an order that she had put in an incorrect order and so she had to correct it while the customer waited....and was still waiting when we left. Oh wait! She brought us our check and after we paid, failed to return our CC which we had to ask for. So, as amusing as it was to watch this young lady attempt to do her job, we give the place two stars. Needs improvement.

The hot soup that you can only get in winter was the best on a cold day. Friendly staff and attentive service Delicious food and the best flavor you can get on the mountain. I always stop by when I'm in the area. The cozy space makes you feel more comfortable.Especially the shrimp fajitas are the best. Highly recommended!??

On our first visit, we were surprised to find great Mexican food at a great price. The portions are generous and the taste was delicious. The staff is very welcoming and on top of their game. The huevos rancheros and the menudo were very good. Always get a Mexican coke with your order. The bathroom is small, but plenty big for the amount of people that enjoy this restaurant. The parking is plentiful outside, with a slight walk if you don't get up front parking. We left happy and full. Thank you La Leña.
I recently discovered this charming Mexican restaurant and it exceeded my expectations. The cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and authentic homemade meals made it a gem in the community. The food presentation is appealing, and the flavors truly capture the essence of Mexican cuisine. Ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and the picturesque village setting add to the overall experience. Despite occasional crowding, the excellent taste makes it worth the visit. This is a small town. People are afraid to leave anything but a 5 star review of fear. If they decide to return, they will get a comment. I'm not afraid because I tell the truth. I've eaten here for fifteen years since the owner left los pinos and opened his own restaurant. The food has never been great, but it's always been OK. Not any more. It has gone way downhill, and when you tell them how you want something made. They totally disregard your request for less cheese. No tomatoes, no onions, and it comes out. However, the cook feels like making it. It's upsetting cause these people are my friends and the waitress. Mira has been a good friend for a long time. I will never eat here again it is disgusting. The quality of Carne is now horrible.
