Me and my husband just moved to the mountain with our two children and wanted to celebrate my birthday by visiting The Perch. This was our first time and didn’t know what to expect, besides all the great pictures we saw online. We were not disappointed!! Me and my husband both got complimentary glasses of champagne. Luce brought out crayons, coloring book, and bead toy for our boys and even performed a cool magic trick for our 3 year old! It was such great service, it felt so special! We ordered tater tots, cheese curds, wings, and the flatbread and everything was DELICIOUS. It may have taken a moment to come out but everything was piping hot and super fresh and crispy, holy cow! We will definitely come back again to enjoy some more items from the menu. Very thankful, thank you!!
I always stop here when I come up the mountain. Awesome view, awesome staff. Very good food.
Fantastic food, drinks, and music. I’ll be back!
Fish and chips soooo gooddd!!!!
Amazing view, amazing service!!!
Loved having lunch there , South African flat bread was very different and nice
Wonderful restaurant with amazing food, attentive staff, and cozy mountain vibes. Perfect for the family, bros, or an intimate date. 100% will be back.
Tasteful, cabin-like atmosphere with a pool table, talkative locals, and seasonal dishes
Came in just around dusk and the bartender was the only one in the establishment. The music was playing some nice '90s alternative rock music, the bartender sat us down and was attentive and friendly.
We had a couple of drinks, had a small appetizer, and then ordered our main dishes. We had the fish and chips and the South African flatbread, you know... Pizza lol
The food was delicious and as people began streaming in, a couple of folks came in to play pool, some others ponyed up at the bar, and another family sat next to us and we had a great conversation, the locals here are in my subjective estimation very friendly and kind and altogether it was a very nice experience. While we were there the owner showed up and laughed with some of the regulars and attended the tables and was all together a substantive good addition to the vibe that night.
The building appears to be a repurposed two-story home, the kind you would see sprinkled around mountain towns. As such, the restaurant is on the second floor up and exterior flight of stairs. This does impact anyone who is wheelchair bound, and can impact anyone who struggles with stairs. Additionally the bathroom is on the first floor through a separate exterior door. These are not negatives, just something to consider when visiting.
This place does have little competition in this small mountain town, but they don't rest on that fact and they do deliver and I look forward to visiting again.
I visited The Perch with my parents, looking forward to a comfortable sit-down dinner. Unfortunately, we felt a bit out of place upon arrival. The staff seemed disinterested in welcoming us, leaving us unsure whether to wait to be seated or find our own table. Even as we were clearly leaving, no one stopped us to ask if we needed assistance or if everything was okay. A more inclusive atmosphere and attentive service would have greatly improved our experience.

The atmosphere was great. We sat outside on the top deck. An even though I got hit by an umbrella when the wind came up, I liked sitting outside. I was a little upset that they did not really even say anything about me getting hit across the shoulder and back, which hurt btw..
The food looked great but I am not a big Cumin person. I'm pretty sure my burger had cumin in it. The fries where good. We had the brea for an appetizer. It was not what I expected for $16.
It's a cute little area an I love the mountain feel. But next time, I think we will try the pizza place.

The perch said it had accommodations for handing cap people but if you go on a weekday you would have to climb stairs many of them. We were informed they only open the bottom half on weekends. But the snotty waitress went on to inform us that the night before which would of been a Tuesday was open for them. Anyway we ordered food to go fish and chips. The fish was dry awful and the waitresses rude and very unacomidating. Would (never) go back. Date September 12th 2024

I can't stress enough how nice the staff is here. We came to eat with our toddler who was off his nap schedule and we had to leave shortly after getting the food. The staff was kind from start to finish and was very accommodating with the situation.
The salad with pear was very good. Fried okra was excellent. We also got the fish. We're from the coast and have had a lot of fish and chips so I'm very particular about my fish. I have to say that fish was a handsome fillet, but a little on the dry side. I wouldn't order it again, but we do plan on returning to try their other dishes. Also, they had a south African Pinotage, bonus points for that.
A note on seating: Most of the seating upstairs are high-tops. If you have children I recommend the outdoor seating, weather permitting.
