Excellent place to get your idly for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are very quick with service. There is counter and kiosk to place your order. Have been coming here for months to years for food and would highly recommend to everyone.
Their Mysore Shree/pak not sure where we stand with the name lately is unique version unlike the ones that melts in the mouth this one is different but good.

Sambar taste is great but Vada size is too small. Not worth for the price !

Also, I see increase in price periodically . Hope it will stay the same for sometime as we enjoyed before :)

It is a takeout place. I ordered tatte idli, medhu vadha, their combo, mini idli, ghee podhi idli, curd rice. Everything tasted great.

They are served with sambhar, tomato chutney and green colored coconut chutney. Tomato chutney is my favourite.

I loved curd rice specially.

I recently ordered a benne dosa and wanted to share some feedback. Unfortunately, the dosa felt undercooked and more like eating raw batter than dosa. The overall quality wasn’t up to the mark this time, which was disappointing. I’ve also noticed a clear difference in quality between dine-in and takeout orders. not going to visit again

Tasty South Indian food.
Some feedback:
- Consider adding mini hot lunch option so we don't have to reheat and consume the leftovers the next day.
- Consider deep frying badhusha in low to medium heat so it is flaky on the inside as well. It's always not fully cooked on the inside.

We had a last-minute event for 20+ guests and reached out to Idly Express to place the order. Even though the request was late, the manager (Mr. Amit) was kind enough to empathize with us and accept the bulk order. We ordered Idly, Vada, Bisi Bele Bhat and Gajar ka halwa. The food was amazing!!
Thank you Mr. Amit and Idly express. We will always remember your kind gesture and are greatful! ☺️

I ordered idli, utappam and a sweet. I had them around 9 pm. Stomach pain started around 10 pm, took pain killers whole night, and joined emergency around 4 am.

I had gone through CT scan, MRI, blood tests etc. Next day Primary physician recommended gastroenterologist as pain killers were not helping. GS dr said its most likely food poisoning. I had gone through worst pain for a week even though taking max dosage pain medication and joined emergency again as pain killers were not helping. It took 10 days to recover. I have no other health problems. Pain was continuous there for 24 hrs everyday.

I called restaurant regarding the same multiple times after this, they keep saying owner will call but no one called. No response. Be careful, especially for kids. I don’t want anyone go through this. Food might seem fresh but it’s not. Not sure what they mix or may be serving spoiled food.

Update: Mylapore also seems to be the same restaurant.

Must-stop for authentic South Indian comfort food. The idlis are incredibly fluffy, paired with rich, flavorful sambar and chutneys that bring a smile with every bite. Service is consistently quick—ideal for a busy morning run or hearty breakfast on the go . Staff are friendly, often greeting regular customers by name, which adds a welcoming personal touch .

On the plus side, portions are generous, and the menu clearly labels vegetarian and vegan options—great for dietary preferences.

In short, Idly Express is a reliable pick for speedy, flavorful South Indian breakfast or lunch. It might lack seating during busy hours, but the food’s authenticity and efficiency more than make up for it.

Tried this place a couple of weeks ago for an outdoor brunch, and it was worth it.

Our order was idli and vada sambhar. The food was packed nicely and it was convenient to carry it to our brunch location.

Both the items ordered were really fresh and tasted great. In fact best among all options around this area.

Hope you like it too 👍
