Decent, if not generic, place for Vietnamese food. I had the pork chop with broken rice and it was pretty good. The restaurant itself looks pretty rundown, however, with a lot of the decor being leftover pieces from the thai restaurant that occupied this space several years prior to Pho Lan. The ceiling also has a lot of visible mildew and sealant or something spread around that makes it look like it's in the process of being renovated, and the overall atmosphere is slightly...
Family owned and run. Lovely humans run this place. Food was good without being spectacular. Its because the ingredients perhaps are not as fresh as they can be at a more trafficked place. The place can do with an olfactory upgrade including the stuff they use to clean up the tables between one guest vs the next.
A clean place to eat my lunch. The Bun Bo Hue (spicy pork noodle soup) is my fav. Just enough spicy and doesn't make you thirsty afterward. No pork blood for me. Very generous big bowl of soup.
