Pineapple King Bakery - Fremont

I always get pineapple buns with original butter, and also mini puffs that comes 4 in a box! Tastes just like the ones from Hong Kong. I think the other butters were alright, the original butter is the best. Grab an iced milk tea / lemon tea while you are there. Expect at least 30 mins wait :)

I've been eagerly anticipating the buzz to die down at Pineapple King Bakery, but it seems the hype is perpetual. Arriving on a Thursday morning, 15 minutes before opening, I was surprised to find a line already formed. Nonetheless, the wait proved worthwhile. Opting for the Self-Order line, I found it to be a quicker option compared to the cashier line, where patrons had numerous inquiries.Opting for the Supreme Box, I found it to be an excellent choice for a first-timer like myself. It offers a delightful assortment of flavors, ranging from savory salted egg to sweet chocolate marshmallow and fruity guava. While my personal favorite was the salted egg, I anticipate my preference may shift with subsequent visits, given the bakery's renowned pineapple buns. Notably, the crust or bun stands out with its superior taste, reminiscent of a more flavorful croissant shell.

Place is overhyped :(I tried the same bakery in San Francisco with their specialty buns like the puffs and buttery bunsSo today, I just wanted to try this location and try a plain classic Pinapple bun.The bun was tiny. The top was not crispy at all.To make fusion buns and fancy buns, you should focus on getting down the basics and core of a pineapple bun first.Sheung Kee will make you a better and bigger pineapple bun.

The famous Pineapple King Bakery from SF is now in the East Bay. As of this writing, there was no online ordering, but they said it is coming soon. Fairly easy to get to, no long lines (when I was there) and same quality as the bakery in SF. Highly recommended!

First time here!!! Tried their $9 sample size one that came with 4 different flavors. My favorite was the original and salted egg in the middle. Perfect size to have if you’re willing to try all the other flavors and it’s your first time here. Crunchy-ness of the bread hits close resemblance to the traditional ones despite the funky flavors. Highly recommend this value!

The pineapple buns with butter are so good and addicting! Especially when it comes out hot, I love how the butter melts in the bread. There were a few times I received bread that was left out and it takes away all the enjoyment. :(Lines can be long, but the order comes out fairly quick.

There was a bug on one of the buns, my two year old almost ate it. You can see from the picture it was there during the baking process. It left a dent on the bun after I removed the bug. So gross!!!

In and out in just about 10 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon. The pineapple puffs with filling are a good value compared to the single butter pineapple buns. The coffee milk tea was excellent, and had suprisingly strong coffee flavor.
