Very confusing process for ordering food. When my wife and I came here for lunch, we were seated and given water but weren’t given any menus for ordering. However, there was a QR code on the table with the label “C3” and no English instructions. After waiting for roughly ten minutes, the waiter never came to our table, so we thought this was a similar process as some other Chinese restaurants we’ve been to: scan the QR code and order your food on the website.

The food was decent. Nothing special to mention here.

The big issue to highlight here is that after we finished our food and were able to leave, the waiter stopped us and said we didn’t pay yet. Confused, we showed them the transaction on both the website and our banking app, which showed that the order went through and was already paid for. However, it turns out that the QR code that was on our table is for ordering take out, not for dining in. The funny thing is that there’s even a sign up front with a QR code that says something like “scan this QR code to view and ORDER” in English, so it makes sense that some customers like us would scan and pay for their meal through the QR code, right?

As a result, we apparently ordered both dine in and take out, and they wanted us to pay for BOTH of these. We were able to talk them out of this (we only came in for dine in, so we only paid for this), and they told us to keep this in mind the next time we come back (if we ever do).

To the restaurant staff: this is all on you. You all made this process very confusing and wanted us to pay for your mistakes. We are never coming back again.

The pre-made dish thing. I told you that the pickled fish should not be spicy. I said I couldn’t change it. It was okay, so just make it mildly spicy. I said I didn’t want the dried chili peppers on it. The waiter said it wouldn’t look good without the dried chili peppers. I said no, but I was still served one with dried chili peppers. What the hell?

Best hunan restaurant in the bay, if you're looking for authentic Chinese food. Possibly the best hunan restaurant in the country.

The grilled whole fish is a must order. The bamboo shoots with pickled vegetables are delicious. Everything is excellent

After returning from China, I got together with my old friends here again, and the same high-quality service and stable taste were obtained. My friends who come to the Bay Area ask me where to eat delicious food, and Liuxiang is always at the top of the list of recommendations. After all, there are really not many similar tastes in the Bay Area to those in China. It is still a long-established restaurant. I hope it will continue to be maintained.

A place where the rice is more fragrant?

A style with a strong taste. The upper limit of deliciousness is subjective, but the lower limit is on the higher side in the Bay Area. It’s delicious without going overboard. The dishes are not big but the price is not high.

The dry-pot fat sausage tastes like greasy residue. In fact, the fat sausage is fried in a pan and then added with some dried chili peppers. This dish should not be called dry-pot fat sausage. It should be called "fried fat sausage". "! ! ! ??‍♀️

The dry pot sausage is very unique. It is recommended that everyone try it.
