I want to start off with why I gave this place 1 star. To summarize its because of the extremely poor service and how incredibly rude the owner was. I went there with a friend for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and it was quite a rush hour. As soon as we were done with our food (in like within 30 minutes ), the owner and servers kept circling around our table like vultures giving us non verbal cues to leave. When we ignored it, they asked us if we could vacate the table and when we said we need a few more minutes they came back again after a few minutes to clean the table forcing us to leave. I felt that was incredibly non-serviceable, rude and disrespectful
The food is decent, but the whole service experience diluted that and I think the place should do better.

Great ambiance, good service! We went here for Valentine's Day, and the experience was terrific. The place was packed, yet the food was served quickly. They did take us a bit to sit down, but that's okay. We ordered terrific soy chops. Aloo Tikki and Dahi Save Puri were great. For dinner, we had paneer balti and veg jaipuri. Now, I'm waiting on the chocolate sizzled and gulab jamun for dessert. They should be good, too.
The ambience is nice, definitely a different vibe. I thought the food would hold its quality and presentation based on instagram videos and pictures, but I was definitely wrong. With all due respect to the owners, the food needs alot of work. My grilled veggie sandwich was tasteless and just a bunch of shredded cheese on top of it, my wife’s dosa had little filling and the idli tasted like hot water soup. The veg gravy munchurian had so much salt in it that I left it alone. I think there menu is so big and has so many items on it that they ended up focusing on quantity of things then QUALITY. Like I said beautiful decorations and atmosphere but food definitely needs alot of work. Best of luck!

Food was Ok. Portions were small. The "Indo Chinese Surprising sizzler" surprised us in an underwhelming way. Egg fried rice was good. Ambience and service were good, but the food was way over-priced.

Restaurantji Recommends
This is so far hands down the best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area- a place that truly makes you feel as if you are back in Bombay! If you're looking for an incredible dining experience, Sankalp is the place to be! From the moment you step in, you're welcomed by a beautifully designed interior that blends elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The decor is absolutely stunning—modern yet traditional, with thoughtful details that enhance the overall vibe.
The staff here is beyond amazing! Friendly, attentive, and always ready with great recommendations. They truly make you feel like a valued guest.
Now, let's talk about the food—simply outstanding! Every dish is packed with flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. From their flavor packed curries, flavorful indo-chinese food, street food delicacies like Frankies, vada pav to mouth-watering sizzlers and chaat and of course my favorite sizzling brownie, everything is cooked to perfection. Been back twice already and everything is absolutely divine and the food is consistent.
If you're craving authentic Indian flavors in a fantastic setting, Sankalp is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more! 💯🔥

The front desk person is very rude and never says a kind response to the questions and making rude face with unpolite behavior asking people to cramp and seat without having basic sense as how kids will squeeze into the chair by crawling under the table. I have never seen such a worst restaurant with a rude person and unprofessional behavior. Rudely saying, "You have to sit here else I can't give you another table." I will never ever visit this place. Beyond my friends worst personal experience, I came in a thought that they could have changed but it's worthless.

Restaurant know for it’s South Indian cuisine has the worst South Indian food. Sankalp in the name itself is a big franchise but don’t try this one…. One of the worst Dosa we experienced here. Also, Sankalp is known for its Sambhar and this location has the terrible sambhar… Dosa was burnt, very dru and same with aloo masala ( very dry) with no taste….Avoid Avoid Avoid

Ordered 2 monchow soup and Naan . The soup was watery and was not thick enough for soup. They gave Wonton strips only for one soup and that two less than n quantity . Order from somewhere else not here
The atmosphere and the service are good. Unfortunately, this place falls flat on the most important thing in the restaurant that’s food. We ordered the mix grill sizzler - the malai chicken tikka was ok but the chicken tikka , tandoori chicken and fish tikka were all distasteful. I will never be returning to this place again. If you like wasting your money and low ROI, Sankalp is the place to be. Otherwise there are plenty of better restaurants in Fremont.
