So disappointed in this place. I eat Taiwan Porridge every week, take out mostly but eat in sometimes. This week we decided to bring our family. We walked in and we were given a table but did not order because we were waiting for the rest of our party riding in another car. We've eaten her before and we usually don't get seated until we order. We order right at 8pm. We did not get the advertised 20%, apparently they determine the discount on the time you walk in. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. The man at the cash register came up to us and said we walked in before 8 so we can't get the discount and was arguing with me in front of the restaurant. This is how they treat loyal customers? I'm so disappointed...

Food was good, but either they have a defective payment system or they set it up to make you pay more tips. We hit the custom tip bottom and it defaulted to 20%+ tip. The cashier told us there's no back/cancel button, and did not offer resolution.

The best comfort food. Porridge is great with yam. All dishes are delicious. Come early for parking because it is small parking lot.

I normally went to the Taiwan Porridge in Milpitas or Cupertino. Today is the first time I try this location. Some of their dish is definitely not fresh. Never going to this place again.

Clean and organized. Wide selection of side dishes with unlimited refills of Taiwanese style congee with sweet potatoes. Good service and delicious food . They have lunch specials on weekdays . 2 items for $14 or 3 items for $17 . The side dishes portion is large. We couldn't finish and asked for to go containers . Friends said this is a better restaurant than the old one in Milpitas . We would love to come again !

Haven't really tried much here yet besides the cold dishes, (they also have wonton soup + other hot dishes too!) but I'm neither here nor there about this place! During lunch time you can get a plate with little bits of each cold dish and during dinner you must get a full small plate of each of them (I believe they all have their own prices ranging from 8.99 - 11.99?). There is plenty of seating on the inside as well. They also have a deal from 8-9 pm where you can get 20% off your order! (Funny enough, we came a bit too early and saw other people waiting in their car waiting to take advantage of the deal too!) One thing to be mindful of is there is a little bit of a language barrier because I think a lot of the workers speak limited English (thankfully I had my mom there to help translate the Chinese tags on the cold menu part! otherwise I would have ended up ordering something I don't like... hehe I'm picky). Definitely know what you want to order before going in!!

Relaxed environment with a variety of homestyle and a bunch of my favorite comfort foods! Service is quick being that you everything is already prepared, just chose an option or dine-in or to-go. Great lunch specials from 11-4, only problem is that there just too much yummy stuff to choose from! Definitely will be back, everything was very very good and fresh.

I passed by Taiwan Porridge today while picking up drinks next door and decided to pick up some food for lunch take out. Weekends they don't have lunch combo boxes but supposedly on weekdays they do until 2pm. All the dishes are cooked and laid out cafeteria style and you would need to order each dish a la carte. Cold cuts are $6-$10 per dish and the other entrees range from $12-$16. The restaurant is very casual and spacious. There are plenty of tables for seating. It's self seating and you would order at the counter. Most of the dishes are cooked and displayed at the counter so you can just point and choose what you want. There is a a separate selection of items that are not shown where you can order and the items are listed above the counter hanging on the eaves. I ordered three dishes: 1. Large meatball with napa cabbage 2. Green onion sauce Chicken 3. Marinated short ribs The two first ones are not on display but the last item is. I loved all three dishes. The meatballs were ones of the softest and fluffiest light Chinese meatballs I've ever had. The chicken was very soft and tender and juicy. The green onion sauce garlic is a bit strong but not overpowering and goes well if you mix it with the chicken and some rice. Lastly the short ribs were tasty and very flavorful with just a hint of spice. All were very satisfying and delicious! really glad we found this place . Hoping we can stop by more often and try other dishes too!

Kid had diarrhea and fever after eating their food in a few hours, now remembered last time he had diarrhea, it was also after eating their food. The dishes are cheap for a reason, people are talking and walking around the food without cover and handle food without gloves, would never ever order again.

I had diarrhea hours after eating the food. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was because of the food. So the next day, I ate the leftovers (which was put into the fridge) and had diarrhea again.

Ordered three plates. When I was checking out I gave them a 5% tip because they didn't serve anything at all and they started getting upset and asking why im giving so little. Will never come back

I was very disappointed with the a la carte meal. All three dishes were thickened into the same flavor. I also ordered two items from the buffet, which was much better than the a la carte meal.

Food is okay. But they charged me 15% of tips WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW. There is even no show of tips amount on the receipt. Honestly, I would probably give the same amount of tips but you guys did this sneaky things, I'll never go again.
