We wanted a quiet elegant meal, we sat down to eat when this tiny restaurant decided to book a party of 20 right in the center of the tiny restaurant blocking the bathrooms and register to pay to leave! If you want the Dennys of sushi this place is the loudest. The service slow due to catering to the large group who will out pay the rest of the restaurant! Shameful, first and last time here.

Cute low the locals who run this restaurant but the good was honestly not good. The kids and I got chicken teriyaki, rice, vegetable tempura, the pork katsu, and miso soup. None of us liked it except for my husband who got sushi. Would only recommend for sushi.

I stopped here for a late dinner on a business trip from LA. I was very pleasantly surprised, the food quality was great, the fish was fresh. The prices are very fair considering this economy. The sushi chef was very kind, helpful, and gave me some great tips for the Fresno area and Sequoia. The owners were there also, so very kind and accommodating. The waitress also was beyond attentive and helpful. Thanks for being the highlight of my work trip.

Been dining here for a couple of years at least once a month. The service is good from the same waitresses that know what we order most of the time. This place is generally quick and quiet, unlike most of the other sushi places in town. The o' baby roll is my favorite.

This was a take out order. They definitely did not update their menu prices. Their sushi rolls had since double their prices since these images on google reviews. Good thing i asked about my total before placing the order. $112 for 6 rolls after taxes. We were disappointed. 4 rolls were super plain. 2 were ok, considering their topping on the roll. But none of them had garnish on them like in their photos, not even sauce drizzle on. Staffs was friendly and answered all my questions. Maybe a dine in experience will be different. But we're definitely not ordering take out from this place again. Would attach photo but couldn't since I was distracted with phone call once getting home.

Nice little quiet Japanese restaurant that I finally gave a visit. Very friendly staff, and very good food. I was pleased overall with my experience. I kind of wish I’d have gone sooner.

THIS IS THE BEST FRESH SUSHI IN FRESNO. 🏆 period. We've been coming here for 4 years, tried other places, the quality and taste cannot be beat. Best authentic sushi restaurant in Fresno. The owners make the food and serve and they're are just amazing people. Highly recommend!

Today I was so disappointed. I have eaten here many times over the years and today the soup was served cold. The salad was so watered down that there was an actual puddle. The sushi was not cold. It was warm, which gave me pause as to whether it was being stored correctly or not, in the temporary vegetables were doughy. Overall did not care for today’s experience at all. I will not be going back maybe that’s why the restaurant was empty.

Parking: Next to a large save mart parking lot. Same shopping center. So plenty of parking, and it's usually not too busy.

Wife Life

If I can give no stars I so would. I went with my family to this place yesterday evening. Everything was fine until the food came out. I got a baked sushi and it wasn’t even warm like a baked sushi should be. It also looked nothing like the photo. Then I was told by an older Asian woman that the crab meat was imitation crab meat. I cut my sushi up in smaller pieces and took a few bites. I tried to like it but ended up telling the older lady I didn’t want it and would like to order something different. Here’s where it starts to get BAD. As I waited for my husband to go tell the lady we wanted a different sushi I tried a piece of chicken from one of my daughter’s plates and immediately I tasted old expired chicken! It was sour, definitely went bad. I even had my husband taste it and he noticed the meat tasted bad too. By then my daughters had ate most of it between the 3 of them. That’s not the worst part though. My husband had asked the older lady if we can get a new sushi and she said we will still be charged for the sushi we barely ate. She was not understanding and would not budge. She kept saying we will be charged. So I decided to cancel the sushi we just ordered. After my husband came back to the table we were just talking for a few minutes and I looked up and noticed the sushi maker staring at me. The older lady was talking to him in her language and he would not stop looking at me. He had his arms folded and had this very serious angry look on his face. Every time I would look up at him he was looking at me with this serious expression on his face. Mind you im a woman and I’m pregnant. So I had had enough and I just stared right back at him then waved and said out loud, “what, can I help you? You keep saying at me, what are you looking at?” I had had enough of this creep staring a hole into my head. I believe that older lady was talking about me and he got upset that I complained and canceled a order of sushi. That older lady was trying to make excuses for the sushi maker and didn’t even consider what I was telling her. I tried telling her and she just shook her head and said he wouldn’t do that. She just blew me off and kept shaking her head. She was defending his bad behavior. That sushi makes most definitely was giving me dirty looks. My husband immediately went up to pay so we can leave. My husband would have told that guy something but I just was so shocked he was looking at me like that, that I had to say something as soon as I realized what he was doing. After that a different waitress told my husband sorry and that if she was serving us she would have have switched the sushi for us no double charge. She was the only nice sensible person at that place. Definitely never going back, worst sushi place I have ever been to. Bad food, bad service and bad some mannered people.

Solid place to find rolls. The service is excellent, and it's right next to a cool joint. You can have a beer and some rolls.

Experience was amazing, loving customer service. I would recommend the dumplings because it has a good combination with the soy sauce and it has a crunch from the bottom being fried up. So so good! The miso soup has a home welcoming taste, it makes you feel welcomed and at home, I personally love that feeling. Would definitely go again. The calamari rings were crunchy and fresh. If you want to try something new this is your place to go!

The staff here is always so welcoming and happy. I could die for their baked lobster roll, edamame, and beef fried rice. It’s Japanese style creates a very pretty atmosphere. I’ve lived here for 5 years and Asuka has been my constant favorite Japanese
