It's not called BH's Country Kitchen anymore. This was my first visit. The staff were friendly. They have an extensive breakfast menu with healthy & vegan options. The decor was very plain. My only complaint about the food is I asked to have no tomatoes & peppers in my omelet, but they were added anyway. The good was good otherwise & good size portions

Not a great experience. The atmosphere felt wrong. Sitting down looking at the menu too ages. By the time we ordered and the food came, it was not good
Our waitress never came to check on us.
Our coffee was never refilled
There were more employees than customers, and they were all just standing around
Left hungry after paying $43 and still went to McDonald's right after
Not a great place

The food was pretty good. My son’s gf really liked her waffle and my son liked his loaded quesadilla. The portions were large. He also got some delicious fresh squeezed orange juice. My breakfast - French toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, home fries - was okay. The French toast was not good. It tasted deep fried and greasy and was basically inedible. My scrambled eggs were dry and unappealing even with salt, pepper, and Cholula. The bacon was decent but the potatoes were delicious.
The biggest issue was the waiter never returned to the table after she took our order. I had to flag someone else down and ask for refills on coffee and water (glass and mug were empty at the edge of the table for several minutes). I also never received my guest check. I finally went up to the front (after being done eating and still being ignored while half the staff talked and refilled syrup bottles at the front counter) to pay and ask for a container. I was asked who my server was and I told the man at the register that I didn’t know because she never came back to the table. He added a small discount to the total. After all of that, the total was still $72 (with a 15% tip). I doubt we’ll be back.

My family and I went here for a belated xmas celebration. Our biggest draw was the dietary accommodations (gf and df options) and this new location was closer for all of us. As much as I want to talk about the food, I cant write about it because it's over shadowed by simple fixable issues (that I hope they see here).
Some pluses are the renovations are great. A wide variety of food to choose from. Prices are average for today's standards (16+) and staff was doing they're best despite how busy they were. We were lucky enough to seated quickly. However, from the very moment we sat down you couldn't hear a thing. The music was far too loud, causing people to yell over it, making everyone yell ontop of each other. I could barley hear my dad sitting right next to me. The waitress couldn't really hear our orders very well. I was so overstimulating and my voice was rough after our meal. (From yelling over everything). My drink was made incorrectly (not df) but it was difficult to get our waitress attention (due to the rush). I felt like a Karen because I had to go to the counter to get it fixed. I think the food was good from what I recall but I'm unsure because everything else was so unpleasant. I want to be clear, the staff was great. But the environment isn't ideal for both staff and customers.
Dietary restrictions: The offer non dairy options as well as gluten free dishes like French toast and waffles.

3 breakfasts, a coffee, a hot tea, and an apple juice came out to $80 including tip. Not worth it! Don’t waste your money! I strongly do not recommend this place!

Service was great! Waitress was nice and helpful. The food was brought out, probably the fastest that I've ever experienced, but unfortunately, the pancakes were pretty dry.
The previous management provided a homey, country, and slower vibe. It felt too modern and kinda rushed for me. Maybe if the pancakes were a little fluffier and the coffee creamers didn't taste like paint, I could get used to the new style. They were pretty efficient though.

Fast, friendly service. The service was excellent, attentive but not over bearing. Our order was brought to us promptly and as ordered. I have the Pancake Combo and my wife had Steak and Eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy. I was not aware that this was their second location. There first is near Fig Garden, which is closer to our house. The food and service alone demands a second visit. I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

The vibe is relaxed and modern 😌 the service was friendly and attentive at the right amount. What captivated us was the non-pork options. Very few places have bacon and sausage in beef and turkey. My husband cannot not have any pork due to religious reasons so it was nice that he was able to have his bacon and sausage option. I got the waffle combo and it was 10/10. The waffle didn't have that overly sweet taste like I'm eating cake. We will be back!
Dietary restrictions: For those that cant have prok.

I love it, this is what you envision for a small breakfast place. Very clean and had plenty of options for those who don't eat pork. I highly recommend. I will be coming back here.
Dietary restrictions: Highly recommend, they have alternate options for those who don't eat pork like turkey bacon, sausage and even beef bacon.

Yesterday (1/19/24) I went to breakfast at the new and improved Waffle Place and was blown away. I was a long time customer of BJs Kountry Kitchen and when I saw the changes I was at first sad, but quickly delighted at the renovations. Our server (Hannah) was quick to attend to our needs and never once did I need to flag any staff down because she was so attentive. I was at first overwhelmed by all the options on the menu until our server asked us questions about our likings and she recommended the perfect dishes based on our answers. (The vegan breakfast bowl and my husband got the daily fitness) I was so delighted to have come in and experience a great meal and even better service. We will be back very soon and will be telling everyone about this place!

New booths. New entry way. New countertops and tables. Fresh paint. Completely new menu. Our Ice tea was served in a Mason jar. Juice is squeezed freshly. As a long time customer of BJ's Country Kitchen, I was impressed with the recent changes to the new owners. I will be going back again.

I had heard BJ's kitchen on Cedar and Herndon was taken over by the The Waffle Place. I have been going to this BJ's for over 40 years. I was glad to see the new makeover and try the new resturant. To my surprise 3 of the same waitress and waiter were still working. It was busy, we were seated as we walked in, greeted by the familiar faces. Drink order was taken upon being seated. I was looking at the different plates coming out of the kitchen. All looked great.
I order Eggs Benedict with fresh avocado instead of the creamy avocado. A child' cheeseburger plate and the French Toast combo
plate. All the food was hot and very fresh. The staff was very attentive and accomadating as we had an infant in a car seat and the new nice booth were accommodating all our needs.
I give it 5 star for cleanliness, service and food. I which I had taken pictures of our really good food. We will be back for sure.
Parking: In a little corner shopping area, plenty of parking off of Cedar.
Kid-friendliness: Had a children's menu, my granddaughter had the Cheeseburger meal. She said "wow look how big this burger is".
