We were very pleasantly surprised, having never been there before, but on a Mexican food. The place is clean as a whistle, and beautifully done in Rich, deep-toned Built-in wood booths, as well as some freestanding tables.
Wonderful selection of Mexican music, which we had asked about, since it was so pleasing . (100 selections, ea hand-picked with care by the establishment.)
The service was excellent and very attentive.
Of course, the best part was our food; it was excellent! We were glad we had persevered, bcuz our GPS had led us on a Wild Goose Chase!
It had sent us -back & forth between the SW corner & the NW corner of Marks & Shaw! - but in the end, it was worth the wait!
Food is so bomb we love eating here don’t change anything. It taste authentic to me. Our server was so sweet. Only thing I can suggest is that I know food cost are at an all time high every thing cost money but when serving the free serving of chips salsa and bean; I would say just a little more chips to even out the salsa and beans. Then you don’t have an enough chip some people can’t finish their salsa or beans or both. I try not to let mine go to waste but unfortunately didn’t finish all my salsa today I feel like eventually with every customer it adds up with waste. Just a thought. You’re guys food is so yummy. Tried the enchiladas for the first time so bomb. You guys are my favorite restaurant.

The atmosphere was cozy and service was attentive but the flavor of the food was not great and the prices are high, will not be returning. I ordered menudo and the smell was unpleasant and needed seasonings, my husband and I shared a shrimp cocktail for the high price we got few shrimp. My husband ordered meat with a red sauce, beans and rice, the meat needed flavor, the rice was to mushy and tasteless. Don’t recommend this restaurant.

What could improve? That is the question of the day. Well, let me begin. The food was incredible………ly mid. If you love watered down, Caucasian Mexican cuisine, this place is just for you. I ordered the 2 item combo (enchilada & a crunchy taco). The enchilada was good, but it was very small. The crunchy taco was actually smaller than a Taco Bell one.
The rice was a solid 0/10. I’m baffled because I didn’t think screwing up rice was possible. If you are a cumin fan, then this rice is just for you! Absolute overkill.
The beans were fire though, not gonna lie.
The service was okay. There were only 2 other people eating inside and they still never really checked on us or offered to go boxes when we were clearly done.
Bill came out to $63. 2 “lunch special “ plates, 1 drink and 1 kids meal.
Take your money and spend it somewhere else.

Great service, really cute and welcoming environment BUT food 👎. We ordered, menudo, albondigas and pozole..we all had the same complaint, meat seemed to have an old-frost bit taste. We tried to like it but we had to face the truth, “not so good”😕

Chips and salsa were free but were over fried and tasted a bit on the burnt side. I ordered the chile verde plate. Rice was broken and not fluffy. My server was friendly and restaurant was welcoming and clean. Flavor of the rice, beans and chile verde were seasoned well. I have no idea why I got charged for the side of salsa when it should have just been for free ($2.99 for a 2oz side) and portion size of plate was a lot smaller than I expected. Not worth $29 bucks overall in my opinion though.

I have never been so disrespected in my life. We went to go enjoy a family meal and she placed barley a handful of chips for our large family of 7 and we asked for more and she gave us attitude and said it would be an additional charge for more chips and my mom simply said are you serious as a question and she yanked the chips and salsa off the table and told us to get out. We were in shock we were being asked to leave over asking for a few more chips. I was excited to try their food but never again will I go near this restaurant. Please don’t go here.

I loved the service, the restaurant is well managed. Very clean & nicely put together. Every dish i try turns out to be a new favorite of mine. They are located in a hidden place but I can't say enough good things about the food, service and layout 💛

I recently ordered lunch from Cocina Village for our office, and unfortunately, it was quite a disappointing experience. The food tasted like it had come straight from a can—bland, unseasoned, and lacking any real flavor.
To make matters worse, several of my colleagues and I ended up feeling unwell afterward, which forced us to close the office early that day. This is not the kind of experience anyone wants from a lunch outing, especially from a restaurant that should uphold certain standards.
Given how poorly the food was received and the aftermath of our meal, I don't think I will be trying Cocina Village again. It's a shame, as we were hoping for something delicious and satisfying. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a better dining experience.

We have came here multiple time since we enjoy the food but after today I will not be returning due to the owner. It is not family friendly. I needed to quickly change my 4 month olds diaper and I asked if they had changing table and I was told no. They had just opened and no other customers were in the restaurant. I decided to just change him using the booth seating. Once I paid the server told me “the owner said you changing the baby here was unacceptable.” As a restaurant owner you should do your best to accommodate to families as well. It upset me as well because she could have told me herself instead of standing at the kitchen and sending the server who obviously looked embarrassed relaying the message.
I should have responded with “well tell her to not be shy and tell me herself so I can say don’t be cheap and add a changing table in the restroom” but I kindly responded with “okay, I’m sorry”
