Irene's Cafe has the best food. Today they started their Mardi Gras menu and one word, Delicious. We ordered all of the items to try. The Jambalaya with Chicken and Sausage and Shrimp has a sweet tomato flavor. The Chicken & Sausage Gumbo with steamed rice has the perfect amount of spice. The Red Beans and Rice with Ham and Smoked Sausage has the perfect amount of smoke and spice. The Bread Pudding with Bourbon is a perfect way to cap off any of the meals.

Irene's is a great Cafe, I've been going there for years, it's very good feel good food and a great location in the tower district. And Maddie is a great waitress! Is she friendly knows her job and has great customer service skills. Keep up the great work. With waitresses like her and food like that I will always be going back

I kinda came on a whim and I did not regret it. The food was good but I loved the diner inside alot more. It was so cool with CD on the wall, and bunch of cool decorations. My watriess was also rlly nice! I forgot her name but she had a bunch of pens of her apron and she was really patient with my order(even when I got nervous)

I had country fried steak and eggs plate with potatoes and it was delicious so flavorful, the waitress nice, it was my first time eating here and I enjoyed.

Just went in for coffee and dessert. Coffee was very good. I had the brownie sundae with ice cream it was delicious. The server , Kristen I think, was very welcoming and kind. Would recommend.

I wanted a diner breakfast. And this was delicious. Service was great too.
My husband and I came in for lunch. I was very hungry. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with poppyseed dressing. I poured the poppyseed dressing on my salad and was unable to eat it. The dressing was terrible. I mentioned it to The waiter and they said I could order something else which I did. I waited for nearly 30 minutes for my replacement meal. In the meantime, I did eat Half of the chicken that came with the salad because I was starving. When we went to pay the bill, they charged me for the chicken which I thought was pretty crappy since they made me wait for 30 minutes for my replacement meal. I actually said this to the manager and was told that since I ate Half of it I had to pay for it. I told the manager that this was absolutely not about the money. It was the fact that they made me wait for 30 minutes. He was very dismissive of me. As a result, I have a bad taste in my mouth for this restaurant and will not be back. My husband and I used to come here often since we live close by. Never again.
I am editing this because I don’t know how to respond to the response that I got. This happened over a year ago. I just forgot to leave The review until now. We used to Eat at Irene‘s at least twice a month, but that manager put a bad taste in my mouth for Irene’s.
