Usually pretty decent food, but today was a surprise. We waited at least 20 minutes before being helped at the grill where this young man was alone less a fry cook who seemed to show up every 10 mins or so. Someone came from the back, into the station, talked to the young man, then left to the pizza station, then gave the cashier a break, then walked around some more before finally coming to the grill to help where there was a line of about 12 of us. We waited more than 30 mins for a burger, fries, and Mac n cheese bites.
No one was hustling. No one was communicating. No one seemed to care.
Then our tritip burger came with NACHO cheese on it. What? Who does that? I was just really surprised by this visit since they usually do a pretty good job. And no, it wasn't packed at the zoo, the area wasn't packed full of people either.
Sharing this in the hopes management will see there needs to be some adjustment here.

People complain about prices, but sodas are $4 and a pretty good pepperoni pizza the size to split with my 2 year old is only $13. Hard to find prices that reasonable at any other type of amusement park, let alone fast food now days.

This place used to be awesome. I would look forward to eating here. But the prices are insane now. Food is mediocre now. Go to the other snack bars at the zoo. Way cheaper and dare I say better? If you want a burger and garlic fries it $30.... and it's not great. I hear they use an outside vendor for the restaurant now. I don't not recommend this place at all.

Kid-friendliness: It's directly next to the African big animal exhibit so you can watch Impalas, The Rhino and a few other animals while you eat.

Always stop here to eat out of the hot sun. They have a little more to offer here than the other ones. Free ice water helps a lot. Some people just don’t know how to clean up after themselves. Usually always half full. It’s always nice to watch the rhino, wildbeasts, elephants, antelope, ostrich while eating.
Kid-friendliness: It’s in a zoo of course more than all the options are kid friendly.
