Bad food bad service. Was eating here with maybe only 2 other tables occupied food and drinks took a very long time. Food came out and portions were very small bland and poorly cooked. Easily one of the worst places I have eaten, you should go literally anywhere else.

I was disappointed by the food because I ordered the dinner teriyaki bento box and on Grubhub it said the base price was $22. With fees of delivery it would’ve been $29 so I thought I could save a few bucks and get it myself. I ended up being charged $35 (base price $32). The other thing was there was no teriyaki sauce on the salmon or any dressing on salad. Basically bland. Will not be coming back.

Waited for an hr and 45 min to get our food. They kept coming back telling us things were not available. Fried rice was mushy and not good. Sushi was ok not bad not great. Service was just not good

Really went in to give a shot because wanted sushi. Didn't think of anything really. Honestly wish they had a server to pay attention to you. No you get a bartender attending alone guest only at the bar. Over stacked dishes were unnecessary. Sushi was par. Would I go back. No no blame to the server coming in.

Update 2024

Sad to say this place is terrible now. Went in on a Monday night, place was not busy, we waited at the door as it says to wait to be seated. Took a while to be greeted. The person that eventually seen to help us appeared inebriated, wearing a rams jersey and the rams were playing. Regardless, we were eventually sat down by the person, no menus. No drink order. We waited. We patiently waited for 15+ minutes without anybody so much as looking out way. No drink order, no menu. We made it to 20+minutes of that situation until finally we decided to walk out since nobody had ever bothered to even come our way to ask for our drinks.

The original person came out and half apologized and said there was a "miscommunication issue" but at no time did he say oh come back we'll make it right or anything like that. So we ended up leaving. During these tough times for restaurants and eateries there is ZERO room for error. This was unacceptable and sad the service has slid this far.

There also didn't appear to be teppanyaki available any longer, not sure why. Would have probably asked if literally anybody had served us.

My fiance and I went in for a late lunch and wanted to give them another try after having subpar food back during pandemic times. I ordered a surf and turf tepan bowl and he ordered a beef bowl. I'm glad I asked for a side of spicy mayo because they're literally was zero flavor from everything in the dish. We only saw our waitress when the food was ordered and the food was brought to the table. No refills and it took a while to get our check when we had an appointment to go to. Unless the food gets better we won't be returning.

Been going to Kunisama for years. Just ordered my usual volcano roll and it was so tiny. I usually have to take 2 bites and I could pop one in my mouth it was so small. They are being deceitful, trying to cut back and think customers won’t notice. Will not be going back. They lost a long time customer.

Service was decent enough but food was decidedly substandard and took WAY too long to arrive. Plenty of other, much better Japanese places in Fresno to offer a much more satisfying experience.

This used to be my favorite teppanyaki, it’s not very good at all now. The vegetables were soggy and way over seasoned, the rice was very bland. I’m really hoping that they add teppnayaki tables back and get to doing it great again. The sushi was great but I do not recommend getting anything from the teppan menu, it costs a fortune and is subpar.
