One of my favorite cafes in town!
For some of the best pastry in town, I recommend La boulangerie! When my mother was alive, I used to get her birthday cakes here. It’s a good place to meet with friends for lunch or coffee. This place is so popular, that sometimes it’s hard to find a table. This is also another good place to “Hang out” if you want to see the “Who’s who of Fresno.“

Double Chocolate cookies hard as a brick. They never answer the phone just a message that says, " The wireless customer you have called us unavailable". Pretty annoying. And where is the mixed demographics at ? It's like their are no African Americans, no Caucasian, no Asian? Do they only hire Hispanics here not that I care but it's a French Bakery not a Mexican restaurant ????. Just a few years ago it was pretty mixed up now it's not. Very odd. It seems this place got worse about 4 years ago. So new owners maybe ? New manager IDK ? I have been coming here since 2004 and noticed in 2019/2020the quality in their products has dramatically gone down only thing that still taste correct is all their bread but the cookies, soup, salad, and food just doesn't taste the same not by a longshot .

We really enjoyed this cute place. There was a line, but it moved quickly, and everyone behind the counter who helped us was very friendly and attentive and had the patience to explain all the items we asked about. I was so excited to find they had a mini cannoli with a flaky shell and pistachios, full sized ones can be filling unless, of course, you have a crispy one in Italy. But, this bakery has French influence...lol. We cut them up and shared them on the patio with lattes.

Fresh bakery and lunch is yummy as usual, friendly service. Almond ring to take home is great as dessert with a cup of Peet's coffee.

Met a friend here for FIG GIG. He had several items from the bakery - a bread and another thing I don't know the name of. BOTH WE FABULOUS. They were so good, I'm headed back to buy some items to bring home. THANKS for allowing us to occupy your table and for very yummy treats!

Ordered my wedding cake from here and it was perfect! It was crafted extremely well and delivered without issue. Tasted phenomenal and was gone immediately after cutting without hesitation. Was also very easy to order with them, straight forward process and they were very kind over the phone!

Changing menu selections of sandwiches, salads, breads, cakes, pastries and more makes this a great option for a variety of tastes and moods. Sourdough rolls are San Francisco Fishermen’s Wharf level texture and taste. Lots of seating indoors and out. You may see some furry friends enjoying the vibes with their humans.
Vegetarian options: More than half of available products are meatless.
Parking: Shares large parking lot with nearby stores in shopping area.
Wheelchair accessibility: Although the seating areas are large, the tables, chairs and restaurant furniture are not spaced with a lot of room to get around or through.

If you'd like to see what a $14 tuna sandwich looks like....here ya go! No sides....two slices of bread and tuna. Service was meh...nothing outstanding at all. Sign of the times....highly overpriced food and lackluster service.

Everything from the bakery that I've tried on the occasional visit is delicious though I haven't eaten from the bistro much. I also enjoy the oudoor eating area. It is frustrating as a parent, however, that they do not have diaper changing stations in the restrooms and I hope they improve in that area.
Kid-friendliness: The most disappointing thing about La Boulangerie as a parent of little ones is the lack of diaper changing stations in the restrooms. The casual outside dining atmosphere is conducive to kids, however.

Had a hankering for European/French-style pastries (which we are used to) and this place didn’t disappoint. Read a post on Reddit and decided to give it a go!

Dropped by at 5pm. Purchased 2 large croissants and a banana bread loaf. I haven't stopped by here for about 4 months but obviously things have changed. Now you stay away from the counter until you're called. When the person asks for your order, they tell you to go to the pay counter and wait. No longer can you see which items they're picking for you. When I took them out of the box, one was flat and greasy. The look of it screams Costco. It was a bit smashed, overly greasy, and doesn't have the flakiness that a real homemade croissant should have. A true croissant when pulled from the end should pull layers out (this used to be these). The outside should crumble a bit. The second croissant was not smashed but very greasy and again had the consistency of Costco croissants. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. We threw the 2 croissants out since the greasiness and the taste were off. So be warned if you're going to get a croissant, you're paying bakery prices (2 for $7) but receiving Costco quality. Sadly, they used to taste like a croissant you would actually be served in Paris and now it tastes like a frozen croissant. Both croissants were served in a box with the banana bread, so I couldn't have smashed them. The banana bread is spongy, not in a good way. It also is bland with little to no spice (like cinnamon) . So wasted another $9.50. Maybe with the price of ingredients going up, they are cutting back and cutting corners? Sad since I've been coming here for decades.

Ordered bday cake for my Mom’s 84th bday. Asked the cake decor colors be bright -red- and festive. Just picked up and color on a white cake was brown - not festive at all. Too late to change anything but should get what one orders - it’s pricey and should be right.
