This place used to be our sushi place since it opened as "Roll One for mi," but with each owner change, the place took a step down. The new owner has chosen not to serve beer and wine, and the food quality has suffered and does not taste sushi grade. It seems they try to hide this with excessive sauces. I've ordered octopus (taco) for decades at various restaurants, including here never have I had sauces on it. Octopus was mushy. Time to find another sushi spot.

Went here last week with my girlfriend, and I gotta say best sushi spot in fresno, Used to work at a teppanyaki spot and this is by far the better spot when it comes to sushi. Everything was fresh our server was great and the whole environment was good etc. Can’t wait to bring the rest of my family in!!

We decided to give Maya Sushi another try. The first time was at least 9 months ago and it was good. We had a nice meal and never went back. A few Sundays ago we went by and they were open for lunch. In fact we were one of the first ones there. We ordered the chefs special or Maya special and another super roll. We love fresh fish and this fish was fresh. We had our first Maya Special and can't wait to have the second! The sushi chef's were attentive and created a beautiful delicious specialty roll that I dream off. The wait staff is great. The tables are roomy. They brought everything we needed. We had an amazing lunch. We tried to go back the Sunday of the 2 cities marathon but you were closed. We will be back soon to sit at the beautiful sushi bar and have another amazing sushi meal with you.

I moved out of town and I miss this spot very much. It is the best of the best and I'm looking forward to coming back when I'm in town. The staff are very nice and welcoming as well and check frequently for refills and other things to order. I wonder if more people found out about this place yet. It should be popular!
