Quail State really oversold itself online and under-delivered in person.
I came here excited to check out the rooftop since Quail State advertises itself as Fresno’s only rooftop bar. Unfortunately, the rooftop was closed for a private event that wasn’t listed anywhere on their Google account. Inside was uncomfortably hot—no proper AC, just swamp coolers. The bartender seemed rushed, and the drinks were mediocre at best. For $17 a drink, I expected much better quality and larger portions. Definitely not worth the hype.
Separate Note on Service: When I asked the bartender what drink he recommends or what his best drink is, he seemed annoyed by the question. His reaction actually made me feel uncomfortable enough that I decided to leave. He did say he was sorry once he realized I noticed his anger, but the experience had already been soured. For a bar that advertises itself as a top spot, that kind of service was really disappointing.

Wanted to check this place out and the bouncer on the bottom floor was extremely rude. Asked if we could go up and he said no not without a reservation, then wouldn’t tell us how to make a reservation. Overall very rude and unpleasant. Would not recommend this place to anyone!

This place was a dead zone. Drinks were ok, and the rooftop was really nice. We tried ordering food, but they didn't have anything on the menu, and they offered 1 item that wasn't listed. Service was slow for such a dead night.
Idk what’s up at quail state but the reason most people go is for the ambiance, and the bomb drinks by the bartenders that relationships are built with. Who knows what kind of management is in charge of this place because all the BEST bartenders are gone. Just went recently and customer service definitely fell short. Miss you Alex,Felecia and Angelica. Do better quail state

Would’ve been a better experience if the server wasn’t incredibly rude… for no reason. Every interaction I tried to be kind and polite. She however, made faces and treated me like dirt. Afterwards I talked to someone else that went to the same bar with a party group and apparently the entire group of people that went had bad interactions with her and will not be going back. I’ve never had issues with customer service like that before. It was bizarre and will not be going back. The atmosphere has potential though if they hire a friendly and welcoming staff.
